Whatsoever You Do: December 2013
http://billsnodgrass.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
One person's ideas, musings, reflections, and opinions. Encouragement for better living in and among all creation. Tuesday, December 03, 2013. I personally don't have a problem with Santa. Acknowledging that the Santa tradition is just for fun puts Santa, in my view, along side Frosty the Snowman and Christmas trees. They are elements that brighten the winter just as fresh flowers brighten the summer. How do we respond to the premise that believing in Jesus is just as whimsical as believing in Santa?

Whatsoever You Do: November 2013

One person's ideas, musings, reflections, and opinions. Encouragement for better living in and among all creation. Monday, November 18, 2013. At the risk of offending people. Don't you hate it when people start off that way? They know they are saying something that will offend people. Why? Well God is already there. No, really. IF there is a place in creation where God is not (an idea violating pretty much all of orthodoxy), would it be in a place where believers gather? Now, before all the readers hit t...

One person's ideas, musings, reflections, and opinions. Encouragement for better living in and among all creation. Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Get On With It. There is a fine line between being patient and being passive. I recently retweeted the following:. From @ThisInspiresUs: They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself. - Andy Warhol. Change to a vague, undefined image of something is frustrating at best, if not totally fruitless. Know what the desired change...

Whatsoever You Do: July 2014

One person's ideas, musings, reflections, and opinions. Encouragement for better living in and among all creation. Sunday, July 27, 2014. The Bible and Some R Words. Not long ago, I saw a pastor holding a leather-bound copy of the New Testament. It was, if one pays attention to such things, a great book. It was nicely sized, well bound, and looked like it was a very comfortable book to use. Indeed, a nice study version of the New Testament is a great tool! Inevitably, however, we will see that Right Livi...

Whatsoever You Do: September 2013

One person's ideas, musings, reflections, and opinions. Encouragement for better living in and among all creation. Saturday, September 21, 2013. In the course of day-to-day life, there are products that we use fairly regularly that, while used in a common location serve far from common purposes. For example bleach and fabric softener are used, both, in the laundry but for very different reasons. Mixing up some products could really have- let's go with "undesirable"- outcomes! Links to this post. Bill Sno...

Whatsoever You Do: April 2014

One person's ideas, musings, reflections, and opinions. Encouragement for better living in and among all creation. Thursday, April 24, 2014. 115 Tweets- A Experiment Using Social Media as Serial Fiction. Back at the beginning of April, I got an idea to use Twitter as a format for writing a short fiction story. I made up three characters, made up Twitter accounts for them and plunged in. Sharing my idea with a few writer friends, I got some comments and encouragement. Johne Cook. If anyone is interested, ...

Whatsoever You Do: January 2014

One person's ideas, musings, reflections, and opinions. Encouragement for better living in and among all creation. Thursday, January 30, 2014. Dont Over-do and Dont Settle. In a Tweet that I scheduled* for earlier today (@BillSnodgrass), I claimed the following:. The world's standards are a lie- either unrealistically too high, or too low, accepting anything as a "good try." Seek truth! The world wants us in the nicest cars, fine homes, and expensive clothes. No one will accept us if we come up short!

Whatsoever You Do: Finding a Middle Ground: Gun Control
http://billsnodgrass.blogspot.com/2015/10/finding-middle-ground-gun-control.html
One person's ideas, musings, reflections, and opinions. Encouragement for better living in and among all creation. Tuesday, October 06, 2015. Finding a Middle Ground: Gun Control. Yeah, I am going there. Politics is not a normal topic for me, but I have witnessed so many irrational, unhelpful comments and arguments on this topic, I feel like I need to weigh in. Enough fear mongering! My hope is to present some sensible observations. To begin with, the end goal of gun regulation is to protect society.

One person's ideas, musings, reflections, and opinions. Encouragement for better living in and among all creation. Monday, October 28, 2013. You CAN Let Some Things Go! I was talking to a friend the other day about overcoming past issues. The remark was made that sorting out everything and getting things in order was hard. My response led me to a tweet:. BillSnodgrass: Sometimes, you just have to dump your box out so you can sort out your mess. Why do we cling to things we need to let go? Dumping out the...

One person's ideas, musings, reflections, and opinions. Encouragement for better living in and among all creation. Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Hitting the Spots: Control is the Key. Control type things. Stick with me on this one. I was driving between places earlier today, and paused to take a picture of a gas meter and a fire valve on the back of a building. I liked the image and wanted to caption it with something potentially inspiring for Instagram. And I came up with the idea of control. In pitching...
