In Others' Words. A little about me. Books that make me swoon. What’s with the quotes? The Power of YET. I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. I’ve noted before that. In Others' Words. A little about me. Books that make me swoon. What’s with the quotes? I walk the line. Be brave enough to tell your stories, and kind enough not to tell other people’s stories. You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better. Oh, I kid humankind. It felt different, though, when I wrote my piece about depression. I think I’m careful to not pretend I understand someone else’s point of v...There are...

Say It, Survivor. It's time to tell your stories…. Posted by In Others' Words. October 7, 2016. December 18, 2016. I tried so hard to avoid my uncle when I had to stay at his house. I learned to for the most part but he still got to me. He would usually sneak up on me and he would sexually abuse me. I did not know how to say what he was doing. I was embarrassed and confused. I was always looking for a chance to say something to my mom but I was too scared. He told me no one would believe me. From that se...

In Others' Words. A little about me. Books that make me swoon. What’s with the quotes? You are so busy being you that you have no idea how utterly unprecedented you are. Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper into decorative shapes and figures. My daughter was really into it for a while. I bought a ton of that expensive, beautiful paper. We ordered how-to books. She spent hours carefully trying to make cranes, and frogs, and stars. We carefully tuck that side away. Take the sharp corners of your an...

Say It, Survivor. It's time to tell your stories…. Posted by In Others' Words. October 21, 2016. December 18, 2016. When I was thirteen years old my mom remarried. My dad wasn’t in my life so I was sooo excited to be part of a real family for the first time. At first it was great. He had money and so we weren’t struggling all the time to pay the bills and we even had money for extra’s. Very quickly it changed from chatting to his hands being everywhere.
