I have never given up on stories. There are stories I read like scriptures, over and over again. For no other reason than the sweet comfort of the words and images. They lull me into a dream-like state.Or they awaken me to some deep feeling I have held but could never have articulated. Recently, I read Brian Boyd’s. On the Origin of Stories: Evolution, Cognition, and Fiction. Could it be that I read to be lifted out of the here and now?
