Of Storytellers, Stories and Occasional Other Thoughts from A Teller of Stories (Photo by Jim Kennedy). Monday, September 13, 2010. A Tapestry of Family Stories. This beautiful six block quilt represents many family stories that I had the opportunity to bring back to life once again in Ft. Lupton, Colorado. This program has been peacefully resting for nearly 3 years, and the great people at the Library in Ft. Lupton allowed me to put it back on the stage. What a charge! Christmas Star quilt pattern. ...

Storyteller's Role
Saturday, January 17, 2009. What Should You Write? This is the question that every writer has to answer eventually. When a writer first begins work, that writer seizes upon whatever idea fascinates or seduces the creative machinery inside the writer's mind. The writer isn't thinking about career at this point. The writer simply has a story that must be told. At this juncture, the writer isn't even thinking about the audience because the writer is the audience. In our society as it is at present, most par...

My stories of traveling the world on the good faith of others. Probably the coolest part about Alpine is the fact that its a huge train town. Train riders are always passing through, hanging at Harrys, and lending some more color to the already interesting music and bar scene. Alpine has a terrain you wouldnt expect if youve never been to West Texas. Big bend national park. All good (and bad) things come to an end. I had made friends that would last a lifetime. Learned things about myself, others...Earli...

Storyteller's Song
River's flowing, mountains rising, drum beats to a setting sun. A clown sleeps hard in a lonesome corner, hoofbeats pound on forsaken ground, and they sing the Storyteller's Song. Saturday, October 13, 2012. Three point one four one five nine. A moment more or less is fine. Like silky smoothest reddest wine. And then its gone in brine. Three point one four. A time to last a time to wait. And when it stops to take the bait. The thug to chug his lulling freight. And fairest falsest vain. And let me be.

Peach Cupcakes with Peach Buttercream Frosting. July 30, 2015. Peach Cupcakes with Peach Buttercream Frosting. Take 2 large fresh peaches, cut them in half, pit and peel them. Place them in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Transfer peach puree to a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently, until puree is reduced by half (about 20 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool completely. 1 box white cake mix. 1/3 cup gelatin (I use this kind). 1/4 cup peach preserves.
