This blogging thing is kind of new to me. I don’t know whether I would have any free time to ever update this. PS I kind of liked the title with it. By kulps19 on January 20, 2010. Resource Sharing #1 | Assistive Technology News

Http:/ blogs.edweek.org/edweek/speced/. Http:/ blogs.edweek.org/edweek/speced/blindness/. I looked at an Education Week blog to get some news on certain educational topics that have been talked about recently. While I was searching this site, I noticed that they had a category for blindness, so I decided to search what topics were on there. As a vision itinerant, I deal with many students who are totally blind. I was hoping that there would be new ideas for me to use. By kulps19 on January 23, 2010.

KNFB Reader | Assistive Technology News
https://assistivetechnews.wordpress.com/2010/02/24/knfb-reader
Http:/ www.knfbreader.com/. The KNFB Reader is designed as a mobile reader for individuals with no sight. What is interesting is that it does not work very well at all. At a vision conference that I recently attended, the vendor made it out to be a great product. However, we have tried it with an individual who is blind and she did not find it accessible at all. For instance, how is someone without sight supposed to know when the paper is glossy or not? By kulps19 on February 24, 2010. Join 2 other follo...

Resource Sharing #3- SARA Scanning and Reading. Http:/ www.freedomscientific.com/products/lv/sara-product-page.asp. In my video for the last class, I aired a brief clip that showed an assistive technology device that would read and display words at the same time. It is a text to speech device that allows users who are blind or visually impaired to scan a piece of paper and listen to the audio of that paper. The device is called the SARA.
