http://russelleverett.blogspot.com/2010/04/potato-project.html
Beer, Wine, Mead, Cooking, Charcuterie, Foraging, Projects, Adventures, Etc. Thursday, April 29, 2010. Posted by Russell Hews Everett. Thursday, April 29, 2010. How about another garden post? First up are two big storage lugs that I got at Home Depot for about $4 each. They're 18 gallon capacity. I took a 3/8" spade bit and drilled drainage holes all around the bottom. Then put in about 3" of moisture control potting soil. (Potatoes do not. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Brewday: Get It Right IPA.

Beer, Wine, Mead, Cooking, Charcuterie, Foraging, Projects, Adventures, Etc. Thursday, October 01, 2009. One Does Not Simply Walk Into Mordor: Monte Cristo Ghost Town and the Mystery #3 Mine. Posted by Russell Hews Everett. Thursday, October 01, 2009. When we got to the town and got off the bikes we had more time to look. And boy did we find mushrooms! Everywhere. The problem was that they were Amanitas. Loads and loads of them, including this happy little Mario mushroom here. Amanita muscaria. Here's an...

Beer, Wine, Mead, Cooking, Charcuterie, Foraging, Projects, Adventures, Etc. Thursday, April 21, 2011. Garden: Hopping into Spring. Posted by Russell Hews Everett. Thursday, April 21, 2011. Been a while since I posted a non-beer post. It's a nice day so I went out and took some photos of the Spring garden prep. Nevertheless the plant has developed a soft yellowing in the leaves. Don't think it's a disease, maybe just a slight nitrogen deficiency? An army of slugs? Overall they did best in the late Fall a...

First, if you haven't seen it yet watch Alton Brown's Fry Turkey Fry. At least watch part 2 for the flaming lesson in what not to do. I have a Bayou Classic Cajun Cooker of about 40,000 BTUs. It was $40 at Home Depot. It's main purpose in life is brewing. A long clicky lighter. No you're not. Because you like your house and skin just the ...

Everett Cellars: Brewday: IPA Experiments
http://russelleverett.blogspot.com/2011/03/brewday-ipa-experiments.html
Beer, Wine, Mead, Cooking, Charcuterie, Foraging, Projects, Adventures, Etc. Wednesday, March 02, 2011. Posted by Russell Hews Everett. Wednesday, March 02, 2011. Moving on in my quest to brew a decent hoppy beer I geared up to brew some IPAs. Similar to the SMaSH Beers. The other would be a more complex session IPA, in the spirit of Bridgeport IPA. Unfortunately I didn't have all the ingredients I wanted and the stores weren't open for a couple more hours, so I made a few substitutions. 11 lbs ESB Malt.

Everett Cellars: Brewday: ASBO Bitter
http://russelleverett.blogspot.com/2011/04/brewday-asbo-bitter.html
Beer, Wine, Mead, Cooking, Charcuterie, Foraging, Projects, Adventures, Etc. Monday, April 18, 2011. Posted by Russell Hews Everett. Monday, April 18, 2011. I always find it fascinating how law and beer are historically related. Despite the fact that most of our familiar NW "session" beers are at least as strong or stronger. As so often happens in history, the reason for this has to do with Victorian England. For a house beer, absolutely not! A civil order covering a variety of misdemeanors designed to c...
