Monday, April 11, 2011. A Good Problem to Have? So, I've had this "problem" rattling around in the craft closet. Now, this seemed hideously expensive for a small lump of metal clay, but, even then, I knew it was a great price for gold, so I decided to splurge and picked it up. Because I felt like (and was) a neophyte with working with the clay, I set it aside until I felt more technically competent to deal with such a precious material. Melissa J. Lee. My husband used a chisel and hammer to open this - I can see we will need a little practice to open these more cleanly, but I think it's not a bad first try. The SO enjoyed the results (and now has something for his next Show-and-Share day at school). Here's the before photo - this guy weighed in at just about one pound:. I'd like to say I've been working like mad on jewelry behind the scenes, but this would be a complete lie. Hope all is well with all of you.
