The Things of Life: February 2015
http://thethingsoflife.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 07, 2015. The bathroom floor is gritty. It was also akin to a pond. Yesterday, the kids' job was to clean the bathroom sink. They turned it into scrubbing the tile floor. I asked what they were doing, they evaded the question and shut the door. Since they are not the quietest children, and scrubbing isn't a silent activity, I already knew what they were doing. And I peeked under the door and took a picture. For half an hour they cleaned. Somehow I managed to get all the water wiped up,...

The Things of Life: My Provider
http://thethingsoflife.blogspot.com/2014/07/my-provider.html
Tuesday, July 29, 2014. The Offering of Isaac. Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham! 8221; And he said, “Here I am.”. He said, “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you.”. On the third day Abraham raised his eyes and saw the place from a distance. Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father! Abraham stretched o...

The Things of Life: Day 4
http://thethingsoflife.blogspot.com/2015/06/day-4.html
Thursday, June 18, 2015. Today is Day 4 of summer vacation. It's been a long 4 days. The three of us being home all day with each other is proving difficult. I was really looking forward to having the summer with my kids. Last summer, we had the store, and I had a plan for where the kids would be for all 10 weeks. By the end of summer last year, with the kids being gone one at a time or at camp or somewhere else, I felt like I had missed out of a lot with them. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

And don't call me OJ. . . News about our life as a family of three and most importantly, where you can get your Owen fix! Monday, August 20, 2012. As many would say, the summer months are flying by. I am working a bit more than usual, Micah is working part time and working on expanding our deck (which has involved repairs before getting to the actual expansion) and Owen is going with the flow, as usual! He loves being outside, sitting on the mower, the truck, the garage- can you say all boy? It's definit...

And don't call me OJ. . . News about our life as a family of three and most importantly, where you can get your Owen fix! Friday, June 8, 2012. I have been missing from this blog even though I don't want to be! This week is a bit hectic and next week summer starts (for those who are teachers or in my case, married to one) so it's doubtful things will slow down anytime soon. There is so much to look forward to this summer- baby/bridal showers, the beach, vacation, a weekend with my girls- can't wait!

And don't call me OJ. . .: Prayer is needed
http://thelifeofowenjohn.blogspot.com/2012/05/prayer-is-needed.html
And don't call me OJ. . . News about our life as a family of three and most importantly, where you can get your Owen fix! Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Life has provided so many examples of just how short life really is. Each one is a reminder to me, to tell people I love them, they they are important to me, to treat all with kindness and respect, to make amends in situations that I should, to live and not sit on the sidelines, even when I'm tired or have a lot on the to-do list. Praying for them now. For the...

The Things of Life: October 2013
http://thethingsoflife.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 31, 2013. I made the munchkins costumes this year. Ellie's from a bed skirt . . . And Josh's from a fleece throw, with a little help from a hoodie and sweat pants. They are a dragon and a queen turned into bride. Saturday, October 26, 2013. Yard Work and Family Fun. We did some yard work today. I tackled the compost pile. It was big enough for the whole block. I downsized it by half. It is still bigger than we need. But it is very much more tidy now. Then we went out for dinner. Kul...
