When I mentioned the climbs that had been eliminated and the 5 miles that was missing, one of the wags at the registration table suggested I just tack those climbs on to the end of my ride and that would give me the extra 5 miles I lacked. Last year’s 1500 turned out to be perfectly attainable, and when I consider that I didn’t ride for long periods (about 2 months, total) I feel it should be possible to better it.
