Saturday, February 27, 2010. Workshop 1 - DOF. Shortest Focal Length - 18mm ) 1 / 2 / 3. Longest Focal Length - 55mm) 1 / 2 / 3. My observations based on workshop 1 are that the DOF gets shallower the smaller the cameras aperture setting is. Example (f3.5). And vise versa, so the DOF gets bigger and clearer the larger the aperture setting is. Example (f36). But the larger the aperture is, the more light is needed to be allowed into the lens to make the whole image brighter. March 2, 2010 at 5:56 AM.
