A Stranger Every Sunday

A Stranger Every Sunday. Monday, January 28, 2013. I don't know why I haven't posted in so long. This probably has something to do with the fact that a completely optional activity sometimes just doesn't get done. If you don't. To do it . . . Which is a shame, not so much because I haven't posted but because I truly appreciate reading blogs written by other people who are probably much busier than I am, and also do not. But they do, and I am glad of it. Sometimes things just look new, in a new light.

A Stranger Every Sunday: Two evenings in the capital

http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012/10/two-evenings-in-capital.html

A Stranger Every Sunday. Monday, October 15, 2012. Two evenings in the capital. Soooooo . . . . we had a couple of days in Washington DC. A LivingSocial deal (and I might mention here that I have enjoyed everything I ever purchased through LivingSocial.). Arrived on Thursday, checked in, and then hurriedly figured out how to use the Metro, the lovely Metro, to get to our destination. The next stop was the FDR Memorial, which features lots of waterfalls. Then to the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial. And the...

A Stranger Every Sunday: June 2012

http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

A Stranger Every Sunday. Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Ricotta pancakes in her honor. So yesterday after work I stopped by the library to pick up a book I had requested,. I read some of it last night, before going to sleep, and finished it on the train this morning, during my commute to work. A slight book. Only 135 pages, and lots of white space. Short reflections and essays. Funny, mostly lightweight stuff. Like a punch to the stomach. She tried to warn us in. Links to this post. Labels: Books Im reading.

A Stranger Every Sunday: September 2012

http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

A Stranger Every Sunday. Saturday, September 29, 2012. I have been busy all week - happily so. On Tuesday, for example, I arrived at work a bit early, as the sun was rising. And the first light was touching the street sculpture near the office. After work, I took a very nice group of physicians out to dinner, and then walked to the train station. And you like puzzling over odd displays in store windows, such as this roller skate sculpture. Links to this post. Eva Cassidy - such a talent, too short a life.

A Stranger Every Sunday: August 2012

http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

A Stranger Every Sunday. Sunday, August 26, 2012. What a difference a summer makes in a garden. Here is the front garden in early June. And here it is in late August. And yes, those are two bags of manure in front of the mailbox - we are still working on this thing! Tim planted some sort of squash that began as a tiny little thing in an itty bitty pot in June (I didn't think to take a picture of it), and has grown into a monster trying to engulf the front steps. A Stranger Every Sunday: Enchant the land with amethyst

http://strangereverysunday.blogspot.com/2012/10/enchant-land-with-amethyst.html

A Stranger Every Sunday. Thursday, October 18, 2012. Enchant the land with amethyst. Photo from La Pouyette. O hushed October morning mild,. Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;. To-morrow's wind, if it be wild,. Should waste them all. The crows above the forest call;. To-morrow they may form and go. O hushed October morning mild,. Begin the hours of this day slow,. Make the day seem to us less brief. Hearts not averse to being beguiled,. Beguile us in the way you know;. Release one leaf at break of day;.

Alternative Reality - Adventures in Consciousness - Esoterica. August 18, 2010. It's Us Against . . . Us! A Moot Point

Because my film/book opinions won't change anything, but I'll still say it anyway. RAVINGS OF A . Monday, November 2, 2015. BOOK REVIEW: Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. Is so beautiful that the minute I closed the book, a deluge of conflicting emotions swelled inside me, overwhelming me with feelings and thoughts that only a great piece of literature could ever do. I felt like crying and wasn't even sure why. Excuse me for being sappy. It's a rare occurrence, believe me. Or even Storm Trooper. I love ...
