West Sound Warriors: March 2015
http://westsoundwarriors.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 08, 2015. There are numerous sources for flags on the internet and you can buy them readily from many sources. The one problem they all have, however, is they don’t look natural. Flags don’t hang straight out unless they are in a stiff breeze. See the following photo of a flags. Notice how the rear ends hang lower than the end attached to the pole. What’s needed is a way to convert Rectangular flag shapes to a parallelogram. Like the one on the right above. Each side needs to be the same si...

West Sound Warriors: June 2013
http://westsoundwarriors.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 24, 2013. Using Army Painter "Quickshade". I bought some of The Army Painter Quickshade and decided to try it out on some Northwest Frontier Ral Partha figures. I had obtained some used figures from Dennis Trout but they were in pretty bad shape. I also bought some from Great Endeavors http:/ www.greatendeavours.co.uk/colonials/ as the ones I got from Dennis were limited. Below is a picture of what the used figures looked like. Here are some after "repainting". Labels: Army Painter Dip.

West Sound Warriors: January 2014
http://westsoundwarriors.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 10, 2014. What Mitch has been up to. In one of my weaker moments, I found some Victrix Napoleonics on sale on E-bay and couldn't resist. Sixty figures in a box. Wow! I thought. What a cheap way to get a bunch of figures. When I opened them up. Wow! That's a lot of parts to put together. Much to my dismay, I found you had to glue everything on, heads, arms, back packs and sometimes legs. They were very fiddly. Here are some more of the first batch after removing the primer and some I left ...

West Sound Warriors: Historicon 2014 Report
http://westsoundwarriors.blogspot.com/2014/07/historicon-2014-report.html
Friday, July 25, 2014. Next was a civil war Skirmish Game where the Union was making a raid to blow up the Confederate ironclad Tennessee. I had command on the ironclad but it starts with all the gunners and crew on shore in the town. Confederates can't move until Union gets within twelve inches or starts shooting. Another view of town and Ironclad Tennessee. A view inside the Ironclad model all beautifully hand built by Game master Miles Reidy. This is just after Deployment, about end of Turn 2, I think...

Monday, September 26, 2011. ENFILADE 2011 TACTICA II Game Eastern Romans vs Western Romans. This picture shows the Western Roman (WR) setup with Legions in the middle and light troops and cavalry on the flanks. The Gaulic Warbands can be seen on the far end lined up one behind the other. Here are the WR players. I'm terrible with names so don't recall who is who, but maybe someone will recognize them and help me identify them properly. The far left ER flank. Everyone is pretty much engaged. The E...The l...

West Sound Warriors: August 2014
http://westsoundwarriors.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 20, 2014. So I took to using some counters from a game called "Rummikub" which helps but they only go up to "13" and are still somewhat fiddly. Below is a picture from one of our games. You can see the Phalanx Unit has 28 Casualties. So I cut out the circles and glue them to some Fender washers which you can get at your local hardware store. I get my magnet from McMaster-Carr which comes in a three inch wide roll . Here is the link: McMaster-Carr. Once the magnet is cut out, you can mak...

West Sound Warriors: June 2015

Tuesday, June 02, 2015. Sharp Practice at NHMGS ENFILADE Convention. The first game which I did on Friday evening's game session was a large game titled "Sharpe's Underwear". We only had four players which included myself. The second game I did Saturday evening was a smaller "Blow up the Bridge" game, but I had more players. I'll try to do an AAR for that game at a later date. The French are easily defeated and route out the chapel and down the road where they might possibly get rallied. Rosarita sho...
