About Us - Strathcona County Museum

Tours & Programs. Collections & Research. The building where the Museum is located was built in 1959 as the first Fire Hall in Sherwood Park. In 1967, the first RCMP station moved into the Fire Hall. They shared facilities until 1975 when the Fire Department built a new building on Sherwood Drive. The RCMP station remained until 1992 when it was moved to a new facility at 911 Bison Way. 7 pm at the Museum for Bylaw Change Review and Approval. Contact the Museum for a Copy of the Changes. Tours & Programs. Collections & Research. We are a ‘hands-on’ Museum, complemented by a Research Library and Archives. Our theme is centered on life in a rural community and encompasses Strathcona County history from the First Peoples to the pioneers. Our historical vignettes in the pioneer-themed permanent exhibits enhance self-guided tours. 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Watch for Special Event Saturdays! 400 per senior (65 ). 400 per youth (ages 5-17).
