I also try to keep in mind that female voices are probably less durable, and Wagnerian/Dramatic sopranos are certainly not easy to come by. Another thing I forgot to mention (blogging is still new to me, and I still need improvement when it comes to stream-of-mind writing), is the production of Tristan itself. I had never listened to it before with a translation, and as a Christian, it was incredibly powerful. Bach’s music is so appropriate for the dramatic text. I am very excited.
