Z Fly Fishing: 2014 Fall Steelhead Report
http://zflyfishing.blogspot.com/2014/11/2014-fall-steelhead-report.html
Friday, November 21, 2014. 2014 Fall Steelhead Report. Incase you're wondering if I quit posting fishing reports, I have to tell you that I haven't quit. just felt too busy this fall to make a daily or even weekly report. My life seems too busy sometimes and I feel the need to purposely not do some things in order to keep myself sane. I'm sure you know the feeling. All in all it seems like a tougher fall. which means next fall might be a bonanza! Here are a few recent photo's. Drew with a fine SH. Matt Z...
Z Fly Fishing: October 2014
http://zflyfishing.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 3, 2014. I've had several people asking about the leader I use for Speydicator fishing recently so I figured I would share for all. This is a leader set-up I learned from someone else but but I have found it to be a great one. I typically use this on an 11 ft. 7 wt. switch rod with Speydicator line. Good Luck! Z Fly Fishing: January 2015
http://zflyfishing.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. What will it take to catch "Boss Hogg" this Bass Season? The Duke Boys of course. and they'll be the one's in the General Lee trying to make a fast getaway. So here's a photo of my latest loud popping obnoxious bass popper. "The General Lee". and it's kickin' up dirt trying to get away from The Boss. This may be the only time that I've ever hoped The General doesn't "get away". Posted by Matt Zudweg. Thursday, January 29, 2015. Brack Hill Tackle - Rod #108. Anyway, if I ever get...
Z Fly Fishing: Last nights DNR meeting
http://zflyfishing.blogspot.com/2015/07/last-nights-dnr-meeting.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Last nights DNR meeting. He admitted that the latest Muskegon River studies by DNR are more than 10 years old and they’re still basing rules off that. You and I know it is a completely different fishery than it was 10 years ago. Chumming and angling pressure has changed things. The three issues he wants feedback on are. 2 Should the steelhead creel limit be changed from 3 per angler to 2 or 1 per angler. Posted by Matt Zudweg. Visit our other Sites. Special DNR meeting - UPDATED.

Z Fly Fishing: Brack Hill Tackle - Rod #108
http://zflyfishing.blogspot.com/2015/01/brack-hill-tackle-rod-108.html
Thursday, January 29, 2015. Brack Hill Tackle - Rod #108. I've never been the kind of person that felt the need to make a "bucket list", but if I were, one of the things on the list would be to have a custom split bamboo rod made for me by a skilled rod maker. One of my guide clients who has become more of a friend than a "client" happens to fit that bill. Thank you Lou for making something so special, I promise it will be cherished! Here are some of the progression photos for your enjoyment.
Z Fly Fishing: December 2013
http://zflyfishing.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. I owe most of my passion for fishing to my dad. In those early years of flyfishing it was still about bass for me. I really had no interest in trout, steelhead or even rivers at that time. this would all come later and with its own reckless abandonment. Anyway, in my pursuit of being a warmwater flyrodder, I started tying bass bugs in deer hair. I'm sure I would be embarrassed to show anyone today some of my early bass bugs, but they did catch their share of bass. This fall ha...
Z Fly Fishing: September 2014
http://zflyfishing.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 5, 2014. This was my trophy for the trip. in the last 1/2 hour of the last day. Persistance paid off. Rob Bonifas with a nice bass. He represented BYFG well. So on the 3rd day, we packed all the food in the other boat and as of 6pm we still hadn't see them. Needless to say we were a little on the hungry side in my boat and Rob decided to go for the butter in my cooler. Yes, he really did eat it. Even saw a gator. Matt Erny with a great bass on his "Zelda". Rob holds a nice bass. Great L...
Z Fly Fishing: April 2014

Sunday, April 27, 2014. Posted by Matt Zudweg. Wednesday, April 23, 2014. After spending the last week and a half off the water because of the massive flooding the Muskegon River has experienced, it was great to get out there again. Water temp is in the mid 40's and lots of bright steelhead are around finally. Pictured is my good friend Mitch with a beautiful hen that ate a flashback squirrel. Posted by Matt Zudweg. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Special DNR meeting - UPDATED. This is a quick follow up to my previous post as I had Scotts email address wrong by one letter.
