My Trans-Siberian Journey: October 2010
http://erikaerikovna.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 30, 2010. You are leaving the American sector. So I bought a round trip ticket and embarked to visit Germany's capital. I left at 8AM and returned at 8PM. I spent the day literally power walking from site to site, jumping on and off of my city bus tour. It gave me great pride to experience my first real day of site seeing and exploring alone. Can you imagine? I am so lucky to have such amazing friends to travel with. Thank you, James, Claudia, Katryna and of course, my family. We contin...

My Trans-Siberian Journey: November 2010
http://erikaerikovna.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 29, 2010. On second thought, maybe two beers and a shot of vodka orange juice wasn't the best pre-train beverages to be consuming before heading back from Kiev to Odessa. Not only did I narrowly miss my train home, but the liquor wasn't even enough to break the 6AM bedtime I was accustomed to! Getting into my straight jacket. Do I really have to be in this dude's lap? That would be much cooler.". Labels: Drinking is Dangerous. Thursday, November 25, 2010. This was one of the most hysteri...

My Trans-Siberian Journey: September 2010
http://erikaerikovna.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 30, 2010. I go through life laughing, and cracking jokes, even in Eastern Europe where a smile is like a slap in the face that says, "Stranger, you are so typical and predictable that I feel like I already know you." In the end, though stoic and somber when necessary, my irreverence prevails. Let me recap my day. I woke up this morning, happy that I was in a bed that was not moving and jolting. I got dressed and got ready to tackle a new day. We continued our day, making our way throu...

My Trans-Siberian Journey: August 2010
http://erikaerikovna.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 29, 2010. I was stopped by TSA in LAX airport on my way to Burning Man because my backpack looked suspicious. TSA: "Before I search your bag, is there anything sharp or dangerous inside? Erika: "No, just a couple lightsabers. But don't worry, they are only training tools an are not fully functionally. They are not capable of instantly cauterization. ". TSA: "OK, so I am looking for two lightsabers. Wow, haha, I thought you were kidding! Erika: "Nope, I really am just a geek.". This was act...

My Trans-Siberian Journey: My Star-crossed Day
http://erikaerikovna.blogspot.com/2011/05/my-star-crossed-day.html
Wednesday, May 18, 2011. I generally feel on top of the world. I mean, I circumnavigated the world in 90 days, conquered the Mongolian dessert, braved the Siberian permafrost, and survived a bed bug infestation in Ukraine. For some bizarre and inexplicable reason, this past Saturday I felt something no one should ever feel - defeat. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Southern California, CA, United States.
