If you were in solitary confinement for the rest of your life, and you discovered a cockroach in your room, would you kill it or make it your friend? I'd train it to roll over and play dead. Are dependent upon the contemplation and worship of the divine. Orthodoxy and orthopraxy are not mutually exclusive practices. Some of these may come easier for us as believers, but we are not allowed to neglect any of them. To be holy good means to be wholly good. Bon soir, mon pere! On my family's trip out to California, we had to take the bus for about six hours since the train broke down. I managed to entertain myself for the whole trip with a marker and a piece of cork. Nowadays, either a nice book or a motion-induced nap is my activity of choice. Posted on Nov. 15th, 2010 at 10:33 am. News and Daily Articles. Articles of Faith - Ruth Gledhill. Jesse's Bike and Build Travelogues. Sunday, May 23, 2010. This a journal post that I made for the official B&B site for Saturday May 22. I would fill in the blanks from day 1 and today (day 3) but they are not as interesting. Day one was a lot of city/suburban cycling. Today was long with a lot of hills. Very rough on the legs and making me wish I had gotten a better night of sleep and a bigger breakfast. Anyhoo, here's the post from day 2. Great day. Period. Dinner was provided by Waverly UMC, and it wa...

Jesse's Bike and Build Travelogues. Monday, June 21, 2010. Having missed so much in my blog of the play-by-play as I travel along (I simply can't make daily posts due to logistics), I want to give you at least a good idea of what I'm seeing out there. I think a description of the landscape I pass through, or at least the highlights, is in order. The hills got bigger as we approached Charlottesville, and became mountains on our first day out after C-ville. We climbed Aftin Mt. (sp? Jesse's Bike and Build Travelogues. Thursday, April 1, 2010. Putnam County Training Ride. It's been a while since my last post, and much has happened. Two days ago, on a whim, I decided to take my bike out to Putnam County and go on a sort of 'covered bridge tour'. I started at DePauw, my undergrad alma mater, and made a loop around the mostly deserted country roads. I also found some friendly burros and a horse on CR 800 N toward Bainbridge. At the end of the journey, as I approached the edge of Greenca...

Jesse's Bike and Build Travelogues. Tuesday, April 27, 2010. A quick preface. these pictures are from a recent 50 mile ride through Putnam County with Kelsey (NUS '10 rider) on the left, Britt (fellow CUS '10 rider) in the middle, and of course me on the right. AFOOT and light-hearted I take to the open road,. Healthy, free, the world before me,. The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose. Henceforth I ask not good-fortune, I myself am good-fortune,. Strong and content I travel the open road.

The recent bursting of the ‘housing bubble’ and the resulting recession has created an increase of a two-pronged affliction: home foreclosures and job losses. Last year saw the collapse of the housing market as sub-prime loans from poor investments shook banks worldwide. In the shuffle, it wasn’t just people who had bought McMansions and couldn’t afford them who lost their houses. Local newspapers were...
