Monday, December 23, 2013. This is what happens when you can't keep a secret. Ok, ok. So like most excited holiday gift givers, I could not. Wait to deliver all the new blog surprises at once! So I'm opening one 'gift' on the blog right now. Here is a photo of me working on elements for the NEW SITE. I can't reveal any other details, but it is going to to be kind of a big deal. The Body Never Forgets. Tags: adult surviviors of sexual abuse. I was reminded last night that even though my mind has been protecting me; only letting in what I can handle, my body doesn’t award me that luxury. An innocent touch by my boyfriend turned me into a scared, frightened little girl. I felt paralyzed by fear and felt my stiffen and begin to shut down. I felt as though I had no control over my body. I felt like the child that had been violated and used. Hiking is such a metaphor for my life.
