This is the XK 140 drophead as found in the USA. It is originally a UK car, 807307. Its UK registration was LNJ 333 and I have retained it. Somehow or other it has managed to keep its original engine and gearbox albeit in a fairly poor state. Despite all my attempts to find out its history, I know absolutely nothing about it except an interesting event relating to the time before it left the factory - see later. He described this particular car as being 'unmolested' and as things turned out, if it had a virtue at all that was definitely its only one. The Lucas DR1 Windscreen Wiper Motor. There seems to be some confusion and also some misconceptions about how this windscreen wiper motor actually works.
