http://maribethgillis.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Half a heart and full of life. Sunday, February 01, 2015. Same day, new year. For you, today is probably an ordinary Sunday. I know for my cousin, Kristen, she's another year older. You woke up, did your morning routine, are wondering, "Should I cheer for the Patriots or the Seahawks tonight? You're wishing tomorrow wasn't Monday, because that means the start of another work/school week. And you may also be thinking, "How is it already February? CHDs effect 1 in 100 babies. Day is on Friday, February 6th.

half a heart and full of life: the morning after
http://maribethgillis.blogspot.com/2014/02/the-morning-after.html
Half a heart and full of life. Friday, February 14, 2014. CHD Awareness Week is February 7 - 14 every year. But what happens the morning after February 14th? Do CHDs magically disappear? Are all CHD patients cured just until February 7th of next year? NOOOO THEY ARE NOT! It's amazing to me how much publicity and money cancer gets every single day.CHDs are THE number 1 cause of death in infants yet were you even aware of what CHD stood for before this week? What I am saying is that CHDs are just as import...

half a heart and full of life: a way of saying, "Thank You"
http://maribethgillis.blogspot.com/2013/09/a-way-of-saying-thank-you.html
Half a heart and full of life. Saturday, September 07, 2013. A way of saying, "Thank You". I've been looking for a way to express the following. This is a very random post but I can't resist. And "what's your major? Was, "did you lose your voice? From there I would explain that I had two open heart surgeries shortly after birth and being put on the venilator caused my vocal chords to be strained. After that VERY brief explination, the rest of the story flowed smoothly as time went on. I ramble. a lot.

half a heart and full of life: October 2012
http://maribethgillis.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Half a heart and full of life. Monday, October 01, 2012. As grateful as I am for the Lord's sovereignty, I often find myself asking Him, "why me? Because I have built such a strong relationship with the Hood family, this news saddens me more than ever. I'm also angry. While driving back from College Station last night, I "jammed out" to praise and worship music and cried out in anger, "why, God? Why would you put the Hood family through all of this AND begin to end David's journey? 8220;For my thoughts.

half a heart and full of life: it's a fix, not a cure
http://maribethgillis.blogspot.com/2014/02/its-fix-not-cure.html
Half a heart and full of life. Wednesday, February 12, 2014. It's a fix, not a cure. Open Heart Surgery.no matter how old a person is, this is never something they want to have to endure. There are over 40 types of Congenital Heart Defects known. Many of them require open heart surgery to repair. Over the past almost 29 years (wow.) when I share my story with others, after they hear I had 2 open heart surgeries, some of them respond with, "oh, so you're okay now? half a heart and full of life: a blessing not a curse
http://maribethgillis.blogspot.com/2014/02/a-blessing-not-curse.html
Half a heart and full of life. Monday, February 10, 2014. A blessing not a curse. Once they hear I was born with a CHD, people often ask, "Do heart defects run in your family? Do they know the cause of what happened? My answer has always been, "No, this is the way the Lord made me." Now don't get my wrong, when pregnant with Campbell, Whitley and Carley, my mom and dad did have the doctors take a special look at each of their hearts. Psalm 139:13 - 16. I forgot to give her a working left ventricle!

http://maribethgillis.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Half a heart and full of life. Wednesday, May 15, 2013. As I went to BibleGateway.com in search of a particular verse, I read the following verse of the day:. As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.". Along with the verse I originally had in mind for this blog, the words from Ecclesiastes could not be more true of today.the verse I was looking for is Isaiah 55: 8 - 9 where the Lord says,.
