Strings 'n Things: July 2012

http://stringthings.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 14, 2012. I’m not complaining but…. It really has been hot around here lately. Dare I say it’s almost too hot to knit? It’s been into the 30’sC (90’s ish) for most of the week. We’re having a little bit of a reprieve today, but it’s still muggy, heavy. It has been a long time coming though, so I guess I really shouldn’t complain too much, should I? This is the 10 stitch blanket, designed by Frankie Brown and available for free at Ravelry. I’ve also been working on another little hat ...

Strings 'n Things: September 2012

http://stringthings.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, September 29, 2012. The Week That Was. It has been quite the week around here. Last week, we had company; John’s boss and our friend, Z, stayed here for the week. It was kind of nice having another woman to chat with. She was wonderful company and I know I enjoyed her stay. She left on Tuesday morning and I took the morning off to go to the doctor as my prescriptions were about to run out. 160;      . Where do I go from here? Oh, I’m fine now and intend to stay that way! Oh, There You Are!

Strings 'n Things: It’s a New Year–Back to the Same Old, Same Old

http://stringthings.blogspot.com/2013/01/its-new-yearback-to-same-old-same-old.html

Saturday, January 05, 2013. It’s a New Year–Back to the Same Old, Same Old. Realistically, the year on the calendar may have changed, but life is just more of the same old winter routine it always is. We’re all just another day older. And life goes on. Sorry That sounds a little cynical, doesn’t it? Yes, I said knitting. I have been knitting. I’m planning more knitting. I’m eyeing yarn. Will I wear it though? These are a very fine knit, knitted on 2.25 mm needles, but the yarn is so yummy! Wife of a wond...

Strings 'n Things: November 2012

http://stringthings.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 18, 2012. I Don’t Do Oatmeal. This past week included a visit to the cardiology office for a follow-up visit to my short hospital stay six weeks ago. The results were not unexpected. However, I have decided I will do what I can to bring that LDL number down. One of those things has to do with diet. I’m going to incorporate oatmeal into my breakfast. If you don’t know me well, you have no idea how amazing that statement is. I don’t do oatmeal! So, when someone on a Ravelry. Baked Oatmeal ...

Clicks 'n Things: July 2010

http://clicksnthings.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Living life in the beautiful Okanagan. Wednesday, July 28, 2010. John threw this at me yesterday. I almost freaked when I realized what it was. Then, he picked it (and the pebble it was on) up and handed it to me, then got the camera for me. I have  no idea what it is, but it is not pretty! No wonder creatures such as this are often used as the basis for scary movies. (Click on the picture to see a larger image.). Posted by Evelyn S. Sunday, July 25, 2010. Where We Were Yesterday. A twentysomething purple-wearing, violin-playing knitwear designer muses about mittens, tea, and life in Ottawa. Sunday, October 10, 2010. This year, I'm especially thankful for all the wonderful knitters on Ravelry and across the Internet who have downloaded my patterns, knit the designs I worried over, and wrote kind words of encouragement to this new designer. It has been designed to be easy to use and is focussed upon allowing the user to take control of the creative process. Strings can be any colour that you want and you can choose from four th...

Strings 'n Things | Life, one stitch at a time

Grandma’s Brag Book. Strings 'n Things. Life, one stitch at a time. Cleanliness Is Next to…. August 15, 2015. And since it had been years since I’d made soap, I gave her a couple of the books. I still have other books here on the subject and the ones I gave her won’t be missed. The second event was the fact that I had a couple of days off this week. Our conversation about soap making led me to go hunting online, where I found a couple of simple soap recipes for which I had most of the ingredients. I did ...
