Striving Simply: July 2013

Monday, July 29, 2013. If You Give a Mouse Some Chocolate. It will want to live in your pantry forever. I went down to get some rolled oats for Oatmeal Pancakes a la Momzoo. And I saw something very disheartening: two chocolate bars had the corners gnawed off. I was just down there getting a bar of chocolate the other day and they were fine. A closer look showed mouse-sized teeth marks. It could have possibly been our cats, but I doubted it. The door is always shut and latched. Then I saw this:. It's bee...

Striving Simply: May 2013

http://strivingsimply.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 31, 2013. Back to Basics Budget. I tutor students in the evenings in order to help pay our bills. *B* doesn't make enough for me to stay home without it, but we have a small. We can't technically make our bills this month. I've been ignoring our budget for far too long, and somehow (though not really somehow, I'm the one who did it), we've wracked up a moderate credit card bill. Going out to eat needs to be something we just DON'T THINK ABOUT anymore. The other part of my problem:. It seems w...

Striving Simply: October 2013

Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Homesteading and Homemade Food. Aside from attending the renaissance festival, my weekends have been taken up making pumpkin puree, roasting pumpkin seeds, baking bread, making pasta, and canning. The pumpkin seeds are so delicious. A quick boil in salt water and baking in a baking sheet with some olive oil makes them crispy, salty, a little oily and just plain delicious. They don't last long in our house. Whole process was a bit stressful. I kept having to shift sauce ar...

Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Making the Most Where You Are. We brought back art supplies and trains. I think Miss F has missed trains most of all. We'll be bringing her kitchen back soon. By then, it'll be Christmas, and I'm sure - despite our requests to tone down the presents - her grandparents will be filling the toy gap in no time. Miss F - 28 months. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A little blog about the struggles to live a better life. View my complete profile. August - 30 mpg. April - No 'Poo.

BreadAlive | Wheat, offered in daily life, becoming bread for the world.

May 3, 2015. Mdash; Leave a comment. Bob Jenkins, Pruned Rose (Flickr). 8220;I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit.”. Usually, when I’ve heard or read the parable of the vine and the branches, I’ve mainly been drawn toward and reflected upon the phrases about being part of the vine and remaining in Christ – that is, remaining in Christ’s body by living as he taught and following God’s commandments. Jesus said to his disciples:. And they will be burned.

Striving for Simplicity

A journey of day to day life: projects, hobbies, friends and family. Thursday, June 11, 2015. Nursery Update part 2. While the Nursery isn't totally complete, all the important stuff is in and ready to go :-). Now we just need to hang some art, the mobile, curtains and put the stars on the ceiling. I'll be sure to post again when everything is done - but since our little guy might arrive before then, I wanted to be sure the important stuff was ready to go! Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
