Retreat and Refresh Stroke Camp, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 2007 by John and Marylee Nunley. The mission of RRSC is to improve the quality of life for stroke survivors, caregivers, and their families. This is accomplished through weekend retreats, as well as community stroke education and awareness events for the public. RRSC began in Peoria, IL and has since expanded to be a national network of camps. Over 125 camps have been completed across the country since 2004.
