Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Gifts for Little People. I have been busy making lots of little things for lots of peoples little ones! It's fun, since mine are big now and are rather picky about what they will wear. I made this cute outfit for a friends 1 year old daughter:. Oh my God, isn't she the cutest thing! We also made her these cool sensory blocks for her baby when the class threw a surprise baby shower. I made him some sensory cubes, too. It's so fun to make things for little people. These are some ve...

Monday, February 10, 2014. RockYourScar CHD Photo Contest. I use to know nothing about what those three letters stood for, but now I know all to well. This week, being Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week, those of us who know all to well have one week where we get to speak out and share what those three letters mean to us. What they have come to mean to me is …. Courage. Hope. Destiny. This week we get to celebrate the courage of these heart warriors. We get to spread hope to those just meeting theirs.

Monday, May 5, 2014. A Vest for my Little Pioneer. I didn't really have anything pioneer like for Bayne and I didn't have much time to make anything. I decided I would go to the thrift store for pants, rummage through my mens shirt collection from my neighbor, and make him a vest and belt. Here is my pioneer in his finished outfit. We used his dress up Indiana Jones hat and I made him a braided belt from jute twine to hold up his pants :). I think he looks sharp as a pioneer! I'm not sure what we are goi...

Sticky Genius - Behind the Seams: March 2015
http://stickygenius.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. It's been WAY too long since I have done a refashion. I have been so consumed with life and all of it's many demands on my time that I just haven't had the time to sew. In fact, I often wonder where did. All the time go that I use to have to do all the things that I love to do? I honestly can't figure it out, but when I catch these time bandits, I am going to give them a good talking to! This is a mens button up shirt with a sweet print. These are a pair of my son's old blue jeans.

Sticky Genius - Behind the Seams: Big Boy Bedroom for Bayne
http://stickygenius.blogspot.com/2015/08/big-boy-bedroom-for-bayne.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Big Boy Bedroom for Bayne. For my son's 10th birthday (in December), I decided he needed his own room. Previously, he was sharing it with his little sister. These are some very old picture of the room when we first moved in. We got rid of these beds and moved them into bunk beds shortly after. I painted the room as gender neutral as possible, while still making it fun and playful. They had a big sun in the center of the room, some clouds, and even a rainbow. My little helper :).

Friday, March 14, 2014. These kids of mine are growing so fast! I can't keep up with them. Especially their clothes. I hate buying new clothes because they look the same as their old clothes in a matter of a few weeks. I thought I'd try to save a few pairs of my daughters leggings by combining them together. I took this grey pair. Plus this black pair. Cut them up and laid them out like so . I cut a pocket out from the grey. Serged on the black, like so, to keep both lace ends. Here is the result:.

Tuesday, June 23, 2015. T-Shirt Refashions for Everyone. Today, I am going to start by sharing a few t-shirt refashions I have done recently. A friend of mine gave me this old Vans shirt, which I previously used the back of to make my sons Halloween costume. I saved the front and sleeves because I knew I could refashion it for myself somehow. I had another shirt just like this that he gave me that was black and gold and I transformed that into a cool skirt. Ready to rock and roll this summer! For my daug...

Sticky Genius - Behind the Seams: April 2014
http://stickygenius.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 24, 2014. It was my neighbors birthday this past Sunday. I wanted to make him a little something. He's always so supportive of my craft. He also gives me tons of shirts and pants (i.e. material) to work with. I have made him a couple things in the past with jeans he has given me. I figured I would work with a shirt of his this time. This one was pretty well stained, so there wasn't too much I could do with it as far as wearable refashions go. So many good intentions, so little time! One o...
