Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Praying to the Saints. As a Protestant for 38 years I had a false notion regarding the early church praying to the saints. I was assuming because people believed saints would have to be God in order to hear everyones prayers. Did I get that wrong. Comments. In my former Protestant thinking I always seperated the Church in heaven from the Church on earth? However, later I realized Christ has only one body and his church is one not two. Eastern Orthodox Blog: Is the Eucharist symbolic or is it literally the Body and Blood of Christ?
http://orthodoxdiscussions.blogspot.com/2008/09/is-eucharist-symbolic-or-is-it.html
Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Is the Eucharist symbolic or is it literally the Body and Blood of Christ? IN Matthew, Mark, Luke, Jesus said, This is my body and this is my blood. He never said it was a representation or symbolism. I am speaking symbolically! I am not being literal! But he didnt. What did he say? He looked at his disciples and said, Do you wish to leave also? The early Church Fathers also believed the Eucharist was the Body and Blood of Christ. Or would do this? What Bible verse tells us ...

Eastern Orthodox Blog: Should Christians Honor Mary?
http://orthodoxdiscussions.blogspot.com/2008/08/should-christians-honor-mary.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Should Christians Honor Mary? I have to give a resounding yes, when we consider the part that Mary played, and plays, in our salvation. If it wasn't for her,"let it be done to me according to your word", we would not be saved collectivly. Nor would we be saved individually without her prayers. August 28, 2008 at 1:28 PM. Is Mary a co-redemptrix? Did she die for my sins? August 29, 2008 at 12:21 AM. August 29, 2008 at 5:26 AM. We simple say, "Thank you Holy Theotokos for what y...

Friday, August 29, 2008. Is the Orthodox Church the One Holy True Catholic and Apostolic Church or just another denomination? Denominations are a recent phenomena. How can only one be True, But nevertheless, I would encourage anyone who truly has goodwill to, visit an Orthodox Church for the Sunday morning Divine Liturgy, study the claims of the Orthodox Church, and Church history, and see for yourself. A) Paul using the name Jannes and Jambres as the magicians at Pharoah's court. Yet nowhere in the OT are these names found. B)I had problems in Matthew 1:23 when Matthew said "He shall be born a Nazarane". When nowhere in the OT was this prophecy found. However, I realized a thing called 'Holy Tradition'. Things that are believed and past down faithfully. Also, t...

Eastern Orthodox Blog: What is an Orthodox Prayer? Are repetative prayers wrong?
http://orthodoxdiscussions.blogspot.com/2008/09/what-is-orthodox-prayer-are-repetative.html
Wednesday, September 3, 2008. What is an Orthodox Prayer? Are repetative prayers wrong? The Fathers say that when we pray, we must pour our hearts into each and every prayer, written or adlib, no matter how many times we repeat them. And when we pray this way the prayer becomes part of us, and we become the prayer. By this method we pull down to us, the grace of God. September 4, 2008 at 2:50 PM. And I must add Jesus did not scold the Pharisees for repetitious prayer but vain repetative prayers.
