Displacing the default experience. This object can be a mediator for new and interesting experiences between people. I want to challenge people to realize the presence of the everyday objects, cultural artifacts,and current technology in their lives and bring those objects forward. These objects and so many like them are lost in the context of themselves and daily life. This is what happened when I replaced a table in a public lobby with my structure.

This project is born out of an interest in a material, a process, and investigating permanence. Heidegger describes phenomenology as the process of letting things manifest themselves. Phenomenology attempts to enable people to see clearly something that is right before them but obscured; things that are so taken for granted that they are lost in the context of themselves. This project was focused on a process of appropriating and imbuing intangible qualities in physical forms and products.
