Stuart's Wildlife Art Blog. Monday, March 7, 2011. Too Big to Hide. Started a new piece last Friday and worked quite a bit on the Moose. Overall the piece is smaller than what I have been working on - it will roughly be 8" X 20" when it is done. The moose is only 3" X 4" however there is probably about 5 hours of layering into it so far. I'll start working on the main trees now and gradually fill in the background. This piece is from one of my favourite moose photos that I have taken. Too Big to Hide.

This piece is of a Brown Pelican sitting on top of a mooring post in south Florida preening itself. Memories and comments on my time as an 18 year old sailor who saw action in the Falklands war of 1982. Sunday, 10 February 2013. Since my last visit to see the Barn Owls I have been watching the weather hoping for a dry weekend with little wind but this just has not been the case of late. Friday afternoon I checked the weather again and it was low wind conditions but grey cloud and a chance of rain. I decided it was worth the risk of the 4 hour round trip drive and just hoped it would stay dry. Saturday morning came and I headed north leaving both the rain and snow behind me.
