Friday, March 27, 2015. Family Singing Repertoire 2: Intermediate Songs. Singing Irish songs (and performing Irish dance) with some friends for St. Patrick's Day at a local nursing home, circa 2008. Well that was fun! It all started with our choir learning Palestrina's Sicut Cervus. It's difficult to quantify the different songs. We obviously have had kids in different age ranges all singing songs together for years, so this is just a very rough approximation. More Challenging Rounds (or Round-ish songs):.

Tuesday, March 31, 2009. My Grandma's Potato Pancake Recipe. I haven't tried this yet, but figured this would be a good place to save it (and someone else may enjoy it as well). This is from a letter written by my aunt. By the way, this a recipe from my Grandma Lawless, who I never met, because she died several years before I was born. I finally figured it out, and it needs to have good old "Russet" (Idaho). Potatoes. They are good and starchy which is key. I had tried it with "New". 1/2 Cup chopped onion.

My nephew Charlie passed away on February 11, 2014, after a brief illness, relating to a congenital heart defect. He will be greatly missed! A friend of mine posted this quote from Archbishop Fulton Sheen on Valentine's Day.
