Thursday, September 06, 2012. Technique of using a dab of glue to hold everything down, and it's maybe not as neat as it could be, but it works. Starting to add some color. The photo was enlarged using PosteRazor. Today I start working on hair. Its going to be an amazing piece! I always do things the hard way too as I can never plan ahead. Id just change my mind anyway. But when I stood five feet away from mine- it looked just like my daughter. Should go finish them. Ill wait for your complete work.

Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Snowy owl in a not so snowy winter. Does anyone else besides me have a hard time spending $15 on shipping for 25 lily bulbs, or. 17 shipping for 3 /$4.95 lavender plants? Grumble. Needless to say, I won't be ordering any plants on line. I should buy local anyway. And hold off on those springtime longings. On another note, birding is free and sometimes you win the golden ticket. Like seeing this beautiful and rare snowy owl. He's been hanging around the Samoset Resort.

Monday, February 25, 2013. While I have been working on the Barrens in my spare time, I just discovered another Maine artist doing the same. Check out Kathy's beautiful barrens scene here: http:/ www.studiointhewoods.blogspot.com. For the large boulders found in the barrens I tried something new. I flamed the edges of a brown sheer to make it curve or *poof*. Then I put a little extra sheer inside the poof and stitched them down. My background is a piece of synthetic type of velvet.
