Monday, August 3, 2015. I went out to Williams Air Field to fix a power cable. The air field is about 7 miles out of town on the permanent ice shelf. I had to drive the truck outfitted with mattracks to be able to drive off the ice road into some unknowingly deep snow. 7 miles takes a while with a top speed of about 20 mph in 4x4 low.
