July 31, 2015. Today we went to Shucks City, first we went to a school for 7-12 year old. They played music and danced and then invited us to play skipping. In the afternoon we watched some traditional Japanese martial arts and dancing. It was very interesting, but a long day. We arrived back onside just in time to watch the Jamboree parade. August 9, 2015. Before explaining about today’s adventure I need to describe last night’s activities. Due to the early departure we were asked to pack and take down our tents yesterday, which was not very easy due to the heat, but after an hour it was done. Time to say goodbye. August 8, 2015. Today we said goodbye to the 25,000 Scouts as they made their way by bus train, boat and plane home. I agreed to help so from 7:30am until 12 noon, I stood at a gate helping to direct groups to the correct exit gate. The work itself was easy enough, but as the temperature rose to 32 degrees with 85% humidity it became tougher to remember what we needed to do. At lunchtime I treated myself to one last shaved ice before going up to the dome to find some shade.

August 4, 2015. Another day, another school, on arrival we got split into 2 groups. One group stayed at the school to do activities whilst the other group visited a local temple to learn Zen meditation. In the afternoon we went to the city hall for a drum performance. The scouts all joined in a dance on the stage which was lots of fun. This evening the South East ist team are meeting up for a social which should be fun. Its always very quiet on the bus. August 6, 2015. As today was our last day working we decided to go off site and treat ourselves to tea. Some of the autumn offsite community team, from Romania, America, Sweeden, The Netherlands, UK and Hong Kong. Today we learnt Koto music and attended a tea ceremony. August 10, 2015. We landed in China at just before midnight. We then had a bus ride to our hotel. It was nice to be in a proper room with a shower, comfortable bed and air conditioning after spending the last 2 weeks in a tent on a dusty playing field.
