Saturday, August 7, 2010. Today, was an awesome day, full of beautiful vistas, majestic mountains and good companionship. We started the day taking a plunge at a Hot Springs pool. It was a good excuse to take showers after two days of sweat, dirt and grime. The gang at the Crazy Horse Monument. The gang at Mount Rushmore. Jared threading the needle. Saturday, August 7, 2010. Barry's traveling companion, Freddie Kruegar. As cars passed, they always did a double-take, and at gas stops it was a topic of conversation. We finally reached Sturgis, just after a nice little thunderstorm. We were fortunate to have missed it. Here are the Sturgis boys. Speaking of Jeff Henrie, he is our token Gold Wing guy. Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Today we climbed from an elevation of 6,600 in Red Lodge, Montana to an elevation of 11,000 on the summit of the Bear Tooth Hwy. It was a beautiful drive, with amazing views. Here we are at one of the turn out on the Bear Tooth. A lot of construction stops along the Bear Tooth. The gang over-looking the Bear Tooth Valley. Sunday, August 22, 2010. Some of the guys I ride with have been talking about doing an "Iron Butt Ride." This is riding 1,000 miles in 24 hours. There is an association called the "Iron Butt Association" that certifies these types of rides. I did an Iron Butt ride a couple of years ago. To me, it didn't seem that difficult. Monday, August 16, 2010. Finished another Sturgis Trip. Well, we finished another fun-filled week in the Black Hills and Sturgis. As always, we stayed in a quiet remote campground called Roubaix.
