Sync or Swim | The Powers of Observation
https://subjectiveobserver.wordpress.com/2014/01/20/sync-or-swim
The Powers of Observation. Apple and tech and me. An introduction to my series of blog posts on iCloud document syncing, and issues with provisioning and entitlements. Part 2: The Documentation for Documentary. When last we left our heroine, she had configured her ADC accounts properly to allow her to run the Documentary. IOS and Mac sample apps. (Not a very exciting afternoon matinée, I’ll admit.). Great, so they run, but what do they. Apple’s produced some good iCloud documentation. In our case, we only.

The Powers of Observation. Apple and tech and me. Archive for January 2011. I have several ideas for apps that involve both a Mac and an iOS component. (Let’s just skip past exactly what they are, for now.). Before the Mac App Store existed, I had pondered what to do about the Mac component for these ideas. Just have a free download, and make money off the iOS component? That would require that the iOS portion be the truly unique and valuable part of the equation. But that’s doable. But I want more.
On a Roll | The Powers of Observation
https://subjectiveobserver.wordpress.com/2010/08/31/on-a-roll
The Powers of Observation. Apple and tech and me. I’m constantly amazed by the volume and quality of Mac and iOS programming posts I see from my NetNewsWire feeds. When I mentioned this on Twitter, I was asked, well, what blogs do I read? Below are the feeds that I think are most useful to publicize for Mac/iOS programmers. (I’ll be updating my blogroll in a bit.). Top-notch commentary and code by Jeff LaMarche ( jeff lamarche. Just stellar combo of design ideas, code, and experiences by, who else? Fasci...

The Powers of Observation. Apple and tech and me. 1/21/2014: Update #1: forgot a step! New step 8 at end. Update #2: updated step 5. As of iOS 8, Apple is allowing dynamic frameworks in iOS applications submitted to the App Store. Hey, it’s easy! Just make a new Cocoa Touch Framework target in your project. And you’re done! Hint: you’re not done.). Your files over to the framework. It’s easy to miss a couple. And it may look like everything’s working if you. Your files from other targets. The Target Memb...

The Powers of Observation. Apple and tech and me. Archive for January 2014. I always believed you couldn’t use your own frameworks in iOS development like you could on the Mac. There are a bunch of benefits of OS X-style frameworks. Here’s a partial list:. 2 Project and compilation convenience. A single reference to that project is all Xcode needs to be able to link against its binary. Has always been impossible. Was also impossible, but it turns out, I was wrong. Has a sample project in it which just ha...

Sep 19, 2014. Aug 23, 2014. When Swift was announced in June at WWDC I was not as excited as others were about a new programming language. Throughout my four years of Objective-C development I had never come across anything that I would have blamed Objective-C for, most of my blame went to the Cocoa/Cocoa Touch APIs. While I had little excitement for Swift, I did download the. The Swift Programming Language. It wasn’t until a week ago that I had some free time and re-downloaded the. Aug 13, 2014. When sw...

Saturday, December 30, 2006. When I was in college, and I came home for the holidays/summers, I had a habit of driving around my home town. One day, I got my wish. My LSAT score wasn't good enough to get me into the public school here, but I figured I had a decent shot at another really good public school. This school wait-listed. When I got there, I figured I'd already sacrificed a year of my life, signed on for six figures worth of student loans, and left an amazing woman to give myself a shot at this ...

Subjective Objectivism | A Pseudo Neo-Objectivist View of Life.
Welcome to the world of Subjective Objectivism. Lessons of Life and Love. Today, I came across an interesting post from one of my favorite blogs, My [Confined] Space. It was a rather poignant post about love and lost opportunities:. This, to me, seems to be one of the fundamental flaws with relationships these days. Lots of unfounded assumptions compounded by having none of the important communication required to clear it up. But can we just be friends? And you will still live your life in love with your...

Where I stalk random people. So far this week has included my Facebook feed containing everyone I know announcing they got into elite colleges, and me quietly crying as I procrastinate on my own college apps. In Ben’s post he talks about how nicknames can be pretty price things, and talks about how Ben is not a very personal nickname. While i like the sentiment I know all his nicknames, and most of his nicknames can give their credit to my toddler self. Read this blog here. Accepting Heaven at Great Basin.
