SIG’s Integrated Cleaning and Inspection Pig (ICIP) uses EMIT (ElectroMagnetic Impedance Technology) fitted into a standard cleaning pig body. It uses induced eddy currents in pipe walls to detect general corrosion and for detailed pipeline feature recognition. It can collect data at a much greater frequency than has previously been possible using conventional ILI tools.
