Monday, March 21, 2011. Kara, you are one amazing lady! I love you and thank you for being my friend. Posted by Danielle Nelson. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 8220;One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary.” -Ayn Rand. The ongoings of a Suburban Greenthumb: April 2011

http://www.suburbangreenthumb.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 23, 2011. I Love Perennial Edibles! I am loving my perennial edibles this year! My greenhouse collapsed and I have not started the seeds of the tomatoes, peppers, etc early like I had planned, but what I do have growing are my perennial edibles! I have little tiny asparagus, sorrel, lovage, salsify, garlic, kale, rhubarb, horse radish, raspberries, fruit trees, all well on their way. If only I could get the fence in the ground in time for the deer not to get to them first! 8220;One of the...

Monday, August 30, 2010. I was just watching this movie on YouTube. It is called "Finger of God". It is amazing! I am on part 6/10 right now, about an hour in. It is all about 'crazy' miracles God has been doing around the globe. A quote from a Monk who was dead for three days, and then sat up in his casket, at his own funeral-. It's all a lie! I saw our ancestors burning and being tortured in some kind of fire! They're the only ones who know the truth! Finger of God part one. Finger of God part two.

Monday, January 31, 2011. Have you ever read the letters to the seven churches? We) say,"I am rich. I've become wealthy and don't need anything." But (we) don't realize how pitiful and miserable we have become. (We) are poor, blind and naked (spiritually). God's treasures are in Heaven, but they are meant to be enjoyed on earth as well."On Earth as it is in Heaven! May we fall head over heals in love with Jesus, just as he already is with us! Just get out of our house already! Next year I'm going all out! Don't be offended if you don't get a Christmas ca...

Sunday, July 10, 2011. Leland threw up for the first time last night - sick throw up; not after-she-drinks-a-bottle throw up. On Friday, the doctors determined she has strep throat. I am a 40 something mother of three, living in one of Sydney's North Shore suburbs. On this blog, I record my daily struggles -small and large- to live more sustainably. Tuesday, November 11, 2008. I haven't posted in a while - because nothing much has happened. Or maybe too much has happened. We're still waiting for a big project to get off the ground. And meanwhile we have been busy with many little ones. Here is a glimpse. And I have plenty of ideas for small posts. Better start writing . The Governme...

Suburban Greenie | Cheaper than therapy

October 22, 2014. Learning to love Perth’s lakes and wetlands. If you fly into Perth at sunset (& have a window seat on the left hand side! The beauty of the Swan and Canning Rivers, and the glistening Indian Ocean is absolutely mesmerising. Of course I knew about many of these lakes and wetlands in isolation, and had walked and ridden around a few, but the connection and relationships, their environmental and cultural history and values, were something I wanted to know more about. So, apparently, of the...
