A dog, two cats, and a girl (still) in fabulous shoes... now with two superheroes.: April 2013

A dog, two cats, and a girl (still) in fabulous shoes. now with two superheroes. Not all who wander are lost. Thursday, April 4, 2013. Well, since Student asked, the turkey was awesome. I did good, really really good. Then Christmas was nice, St. Patrick's Day was quiet, and Easter was full of Cadbury eggs! Exactly as I hoped it would be. Our kitchen was the victim of a broken pipe, which sent us into our first homeowner's claim. Whoopee! This is what it looked like the day it happened. Links to this post.

It's me, Sweet T!: Prayers
http://sarag-thekidsareasleep.blogspot.com/2009/11/prayers.html
It's me, Sweet T! Monday, November 9, 2009. Ty and I are in the habit of saying our nightly prayers. Tonight Ty prayed that he was thankful he had a good day at school because he didn't "hit anyone or spank anyone in the booty". Amen to that. Posted by Sweet T. November 9, 2009 at 10:55 PM. November 10, 2009 at 10:44 AM. This made me laugh! November 12, 2009 at 8:43 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A dog, two cats, and a girl (still) in fabulous shoes. now with two superheroes. Not all who wander are lost. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. We sold our 6-8 seat table in favor of a 4 seater that can expand to 6 with the hidden leaf. It suits the space much better. Now, I'm still not in love with the wall color, but it's the 2nd one, so we're going to stick with it for a while. Yep, I did that myself! We have a beautiful bay window! Mom loaned me this sofa table after the fire. When we moved in here, I di...

Run Lola Run: March 2009
http://runlolarunchicago.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2009. Race Report: ING Half Marathon. I'm in love again. With running, that is. I took a hiatus from blogging because I was burned out. That 10K took a lot out of me, and it was frustrating to miss my mark by just a few seconds. Of course, I found out a few weeks later that ALL Peachtree runners will receive a chip. So, I've decided to focus my efforts on the 10K again once I've finished the Country Music Half Marathon. Cheering us along that desolate stretch of Marietta Street. Running...

Run Lola Run: July 2008

Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Swimming- Not Just Child's Play. So, after yesterday's fiasco, I was determined to go for a swim today. The sky looked threatening, but I took a chance and ventured over to the Garden Hills Pool around 4pm for a pool workout. I hate working out indoors (with the exception of yoga and Pilates), plus swimming is completely non-impact and has the added bonus of providing a cool environment in which to exercise. And felt like I do after a two hour run. Since I've been mopey and cranky...

Run Lola Run: May 2009
http://runlolarunchicago.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 18, 2009. As much as I love running, there are many days I find it difficult to put on my shoes and get out the door. In fact, this has been my problem for most of the spring, in spite of three races, two PRs and a team to lead and mentor. Sometimes, I find motivation in goals- a new PR, a new distance, a new course, Boston dreams. Sometimes, I find it in people and community- in running with friends, in running for a cause, in running because I can. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Run Lola Run: Race Report: Chattahoochee Challenge
http://runlolarunchicago.blogspot.com/2009/02/race-report-chattahoochee-challenge.html
Sunday, February 8, 2009. Race Report: Chattahoochee Challenge. My loyal readers (or reader, i.e. Sarah! Have requested a race report, which I would have done yesterday, had I not spent yesterday afternoon at Jeju Sauna. In Duluth, which pretty much rendered me comatose for the next 24 hours. But that's another post. And then I came to my senses. My goal was to run a sub 55:00 10Kand I DID! On March 15, but Peachtree registration is online for the first time and starts at 7:00 am that morning, and I'm no...

Run Lola Run: December 2008
http://runlolarunchicago.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 27, 2008. Conquering Fear (and Some Hills, Too). So, seven miles isn't particularly long, but it's the longest I've run since my injury back in July, so it was more of a mental hurdle than a physical one. I accidentally overslept, so I missed GTS this morning, and apparently, some pretty gross weather. Tim only did half of his 13 miler this morning, so offered to join me for an afternoon run. I mapped out a pretty tough course. I also got to try on his Garmin 305. Of this world, that p...
