Given the option, most of us would choose to be happier than we are. What most of us don't realise is that we are given that option every day. We can't control what happens to us but we can govern our reaction to what happens to us. Our reaction may be instant or automatic. It may negative or angry. Fine, it's good to be in touch with your emotions, essential, in fact, to be a fully functioning human being. But do you want to stay angry, or irritated, or depressed? The world's not much fun if you are.
