I was up at 07:30, fairly early considering Gilbert wasn't coming until 10:00, and was showered and fed in plenty of time so I went bird watching in the gardens for a while. Silvery-cheeked Hornbills - male and female. Creeper, a bit like honeysuckle. At 10:30, with no sign of Gilbert, I checked out and sat in the garden having a rather surreal Skype conversation with Dave while I waited. Eventually Gilbert appeared at 12:00 - TIA! Some of the boys.

Sunday, 20 July 2014. Kenya day 42 - Acclimatisation Day. This is an acclimatisation day, making sure we are as well used to the altitude as we can be before Summit Day tomorrow. Saturday, 23 June 2012. The taxi came at 10:00 to take me to the airport - an uneventful trip, and I had soon booked my big bag through to Glasgow and got through security. Sunday, 27 May 2012. Mongolia Day 1: Ulaan Baatar. Tomorrow I go off on the trip to Karakhorum, so tonight I'm reorganising my stuff to leave things I don't need until I get to Ikh Nart here in the store room. Friday, 25 May 2012. I've arrived in Seoul, all going according to plan so far. I hadn't really expected it, but the flight left Heathrow going northwards. Saturday, 28 June 2014. Kenya day 34 - Lava, Springs, Maasai and More. Leaving Ngulia, we met Buffalo again, this time with Oxpeckers riding on them, and got a fleeting view of a Kudu.
