June | 2015 | sueribeiro
https://sueribeiro.wordpress.com/2015/06
Just another WordPress.com site. Monthly Archives: June 2015. June 19, 2015. First morning on the Farm. The first day after the family left for vacation appeared to be gloomy, early raindrops announcing that I most likely will NOT have to water the growing garden as carefully instructed by Becca. She had shown me, plant by tender plant, exactly which ones needed water, which needed weeding and which needed talking to.( I made that part up). Rule imposed by the farmer’s wife. Don’t yell at me, IR...

Just another WordPress.com site. Monthly Archives: June 2013. June 2, 2013. I have a blog on Blogspot but they have somehow removed my little pictures, and are extremely annoying to access, so decided to try this WordPress site. I set it up a year ago, time flies, doesn’t it? My mind, aging rapidly and moving constantly, must be emptied occasionally, like my computer trash bin. Am I sure I want to trash it? Sure Is it gone forever? Posted in Deep Thoughts. First morning on the Farm.

Just another WordPress.com site. June 15, 2015. In a world full of beautiful blogs and intelligent bloggers, it seems a bit presumptuous to think I would add anything valuable to the mix. I love the blogs that showcase foods and recipes, showing glamorous food shots that make you gain weight just by looking at them! The final answer came to me only yesterday, as I sat sipping coffee and thought, ‘wait! This is the first day of living in a house with just me and Louie, the peculiar puppy.’. YOU are the wo...

One Pan Chicken with Wine, Thyme, Carrots and Bacon | Safari of the Mind

Safari of the Mind. A foray into food, flowers and travel. One Pan Chicken with Wine, Thyme, Carrots and Bacon. What is your favorite season in the kitchen? The thick, flavorful gravy, with the wine, bacon and fresh herbs really elevated this dish to another level. When I seared the chicken, I made sure I charred the thighs a tad, just my preference and with the tender succulent meat inside, it had me salivating when it first came out of the oven. 6 slices of bacon chopped. 1 lb chicken thighs. Return ch...

Those Sweet Bare Feet. Learning life as a sister, daughter, friend, and part-time missionary. I hate adoption. →. March 10, 2014. Things have really, really changed since I have come home. To those of you who have supported me through my crazy Ugandan life I cannot thank you enough. Romans 10:15 says:. 8220;And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? Those Sweet Bare Feet. Learning life as a sister, daughter, friend, and part-time missionary. God never promises easy. →. Where do I begin and where do I stop? August 25, 2013. How much I give, and where I start is the hardest part of living in Uganda. It’s something I struggle with- am I giving enough? Am I giving to who I should be giving to? Am I caring for those who. I took a little boy to the clinic the other day. What if we had ignored him? What if we have. Ignored a big issue and we have no idea?

Those Sweet Bare Feet. Learning life as a sister, daughter, friend, and part-time missionary. Newer posts →. November 25, 2013. I leave tomorrow on a 36 hour journey to go back “home” yet at the same time I’m leaving “home”. It’s bittersweet always, and it never gets easier. I am always torn between these two worlds that are so opposite of each other. It never ceases to amaze me that I can hop on an airplane and find myself in such a different place. 7 for a drink and a pastry? Yes, a quarter. It’s...

Discussions with carpenters, long boda rides, house hunting, moving into a new home, talking with the land board, talking with the government about our plans… it’s what my last couple weeks have been filled with. Life as a missionary isn’t all it sounds like. My feet are hurting and dirty. I’m breathing&...

Those Sweet Bare Feet. Learning life as a sister, daughter, friend, and part-time missionary. Africa is emotionally exhausting. November 25, 2013. It sounds funny, but it always slaps me in the face “welcome to the grand ole U.S. of A.”, I feel like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz “. Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas any more.”. And it’s not only just a “feeling”, I’m definitely not in Africa any more. 7 for a drink and a pastry? Yes, a quarter. There is no need to boil water before drinking or spra...

September 22, 2013. 8220;I have seen the many faces of fear and of pain. I have watched the tears fall plenty from heartache and strength. So if life’s journey has you weary and afraid, there’s rest in the shadow of His wings.” -Jeremy Camp. Today my heart is heavy. I read the news last night of the shooting in Kenya. Those Sweet Bare Feet. Learning life as a sister, daughter, friend, and part-time missionary. The gospel & orphans. →. June 16, 2015. Why am I longing for comfort but He’s asking me to live an uncomfortable life? How is it when God chooses to use us to further His kingdom, we continue to shy away? When He says “this is your home” we assume that He will leave us stranded in a place we don’t speak the language. Why do we allow doubt to cloud who He is? But Peter didn’t stay the same. Peter still doubted, h...

Those Sweet Bare Feet. Learning life as a sister, daughter, friend, and part-time missionary. Who peter became. →. December 26, 2014. I choose not to just survive but to thrive because the cross is finished, my debts are paid, and grace is freedom. Oh, to grace how great a debtor. Daily I’m constrained to be;. Let that grace now like a fetter. Bind my wandering heart to Thee:. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it;. Prone to leave the God I love. Here’s my heart, oh, take and seal it,. Enter your comment here.

Fat Ladies II I. In this series I had two main avenues of exploration; colour and movement. Juxtapositions and overlays of the four process colours have resulted in unexpected and beautiful colour combinations. The secondary imaging produced by offsetting the lino block have also contributed to the colour vibrations. By multiple printing the same image, the movement of athletic bodies is evoked: running, jumping, diving and throwing. The static, yet moving images, echo the work of Eadweard Muybridge.

Sue's Scribblings
Friday, August 14, 2015. My home at 1202 Fairview Avenue, Wilmington, Delaware 19809 is on the market to be sold. It is NOT a House, as the Realtors would have you believe, as they try to have you empty it out for selling to a potential buyer. Box after box, out those memories and treasures go. Into the garage for now, onto Craig's List to sell later, or perhaps we should donate them to Goodwill for other people to enjoy. Perhaps. Or , how about this? Screams my emotional, sentimental brain. My life chan...

Monday, 14 March 2011. My dream swimsuit would be a one piece with ruched cups, a front scooped neck line and medium straps - no wider than 2cm.
