Sue's Sewing Stuff

So many ideas, so little time! Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Life has been busy. I've been working more so have less time to post. But I have been keeping up with my quilting and blocks. So for the next few days I'm going to try to post them to catch you up. July's block is in celebration of the 4. Of July and gives the illusion of fireworks. You can use any appliqué technique you are the most comfortable with -there is no right or wrong with this block! 12 1/2” unfinished block. 14" X 14”. You may find it...

Sue's Sewing Stuff: This and That

http://www.suessewingstuff.blogspot.com/2012/06/this-and-that.html

So many ideas, so little time! Saturday, June 2, 2012. I've been working a lot the last few months (as a substitute teacher). Between meetings and kids getting sick (there has been another outbreak of flu here), they've been keeping me hopping. That leaves little time for quilting when I get home. I'm exausted! No wonder I've been so late in getting my BOM done on time! Pathfinder trying to get into her nest (bottom shelf of bookcase). Willow stretched out on my cutting table. Chocolate Chip Coconut Bar.

http://www.suessewingstuff.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

So many ideas, so little time! Tuesday, January 31, 2012. As promised, it's time for February block. Everyone only associates February with Valentine's day, but, as those of us who grew up in the 50's and 60's know, it's also a couple of president's birthdays. Who else remembers getting at least one of those days as a holiday at school? 12 ½ inch unfinished block. 3 1/2” squares. 3 1/2” by 6 1/2" rectangles. One 4 1/4” square. 4 1/4” square. To make flying geese (Make 4):. Sew along the diagonal line.

Quilting, cooking, crafting, racing. you'll find it all here. Sunday, January 5, 2014. Making Celtic Solstice: Final Reveal. Bonnie surprised us by publishing the final clue of Celtic Solstice. On New Year's Day! It was definitely fun to see the final design and how all our units played together, but at the same time it was a sad day, knowing that we were done playing until next year. Be that as it may, I got right to work on assembling my quilt. First, we put together these blocks:. Hi, I'm Valerie!

Valerie's Patch-Work: February 2014

http://valeriespatchwork.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Quilting, cooking, crafting, racing. you'll find it all here. Saturday, February 8, 2014. My Celtic Solstice quilt is finally done! I made the smaller version of the quilt, but it wasn't quite large enough for my needs so I extended it a bit. I added the checkerboard border to the top and bottom of the quilt to lengthen it a little, and I also added a border all around the quilt, using a grey print that was too perfect to pass up. I mean, look at that print! Sunday, February 2, 2014. I have decided I'm g...

Valerie's Patch-Work: Repairing a Quilt from 1941

Quilting, cooking, crafting, racing. you'll find it all here. Thursday, May 29, 2014. Repairing a Quilt from 1941. Recently, I was given the honor of repairing a quilt made in 1941. I adore antique quilts, and having the chance to help bring this one back to life was an honor and an amazing experience. My client's relative (grandmother, I think? This is the quilt, before I did any work on it:. To get my batting piece the right shape, I first put a piece of paper under the quilt, so I could trace the shap...

Quilting, cooking, crafting, racing. you'll find it all here. Monday, December 22, 2014. Grand Illusion: Clue 4. Bonnie wasn't joking when she said the next clue would be easier. Sue's Sewing Studio

My sewing adventures using computer-generated patterns. Sunday, July 5, 2015. Here’s the belated follow-up to the previous post…(click on pictures for larger images). This dress reminds me of 1800’s fashion. There is a red under skirt and the black dress has gathers creating a scalloped hem. I made a cute little purse out of the same fabric as the underskirt. In addition, I went all out and had a necklace and earrings made by RabbitwoodAndReason. To match the dress. I think they worked out great! I have ...

Sonntag, 9. August 2015. Sponsored} Himbeer Smoothie mit Verpoorten. Hallo meine Lieben,.
