http://suffolkmills.org.uk/windmills.html
In the early 19th. century almost 500 windmills were at work in Suffolk, mostly used for corn grinding, but from then on their numbers declined, slowly at first but rapidly after 1900, in the face of competition from large steam powered flour mills and smaller farm mills driven by steam or internal combustion engines. Today just 37 are left and of these only half retain their machinery. A complete list of known windmill sites in Suffolk can be seen on Wikipedia by clicking here. Open to the public.

Names are set to the spelling of their full title - e.g. Great Thurlow is under G; Little Thurlow is under L, etc. Those entries bolded. Refer to mill sites that are still occupied by substantial remains. Please also note that the six figure National Grid Reference is an approximate reference. When looking at an isolated grid reference, it actually covers quite an area when looking at a 1:25 000 scake Explorer map. Please feel free to send feedback and comments to windmillbob. Graham Tattersall: Snape Signals Research
Mindfulness involves focusing complete attention on one’s own moment by moment experience; thoughts, feelings, and body sensations are observed and explored with curiosity. Attention to the present is given with acceptance, without judgment or criticism. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction is a way of increasing self awareness in order to live more fully and to respond to situations with choice rather than reacting automatically. Enable faster recovery from negative experience.
