Woodcock and Grouse Hunting. We provide quality bird hunting for woodcock and grouse beginning in October. Grouse season extends into November and December when we move a bit farther north for the best hunting. Your hunt will be over a very special pair of English Setters. Please enjoy the videos below of our dogs in action. Housing and meals are provided at the guide's camp on the Sugarfoot Kennel property. Our camp on the property comfortably sleeps 4 adults. Bruiser delivers a woodcock tenderly to hand.

Woodcock and Grouse Hunting. While hunting with Dave at Eagle Lake Sporting Camps these two hunters took six grouse and six partridge. Visit OMM outfitters. Note that here in Maine a grouse is shot while flying and a partridge is shot on the ground or in a tree. On this hunt, Tony (82 years young) shot a little better than his son, Charles even when missing that very elusive flying grouse. Most hunters in Maine takes 'em as they sees 'em! Two brothers from California with a limit of woodcock.

Also come fall, woodcock and grouse hunting over quality English setters. Fly fishing lessons are also available. Fly into Bangor, ME or drive. Stay at our camp or other local inns or even tent at some wilderness ponds. All meals are provided in our gourmet kitchen or on-site and includes a lobster dinner with all the fixings.

Woodcock and Grouse Hunting. The season begins April 1 where open water is available. Trolling with flies for brook trout, landlocked salmon and occasional rainbow, lake trout (togue) on ponds and rivers is in order. Catch and release is the norm but we do keep a fish or two for supper up in the north woods. Serious fly fishing begins late May including June and early July. Excellent large and small mouth bass as well as chain pickerel fishing is available in Central Maine rivers and ponds.
