Still Learning in this Life: November 2011
http://stilllearninginthislife.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Still Learning in this Life. Wednesday, November 2, 2011. While not a huge fan of chocolate, I do get an occasional craving for the sweet. And when that hits me, I know it’s time for a trip to Vosges Haut-Chocolat. Vosges is one of my favorite indulgences and every once in a while, I visit the beautiful shop for a few chocolaty delights. All are a flavor adventure and each bite has the ability to temporarily transport you to chocolate heaven. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. The Oatm...

Still Learning in this Life: February 2012

Still Learning in this Life. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. The weekend came and went in a flash and was filled with a host of good things including a nice dinner at Barbarini. With friends, a show by the great and only TRAGEDY. 8220;the #1 all metal tribute to the Bee Gees”), a carnival party in New Jersey and a restful Sunday watching bad movies. And then made our way to the wonderful Brooklyn Bowl. For a little Bee Gees action! We mingled with Aunt and Uncle’s friends and they really were a fun (...

Still Learning in this Life: September 2011

Still Learning in this Life. Tuesday, September 27, 2011. High Tea at Lady Mendl's. Few things make me feel more sophisticated and lady-like than high tea. As such, on a gorgeous late-summer day, mom and I visited Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon. For a little indulgence. Located at the Inn at Irving Place. We arrived promptly for our noon seating and were quickly escorted to our table – a lovely one for two, right next to a window, with a gorgeous fresh flower arrangement displayed there on. We were then offered ...

Still Learning in this Life: October 2011

Still Learning in this Life. Monday, October 24, 2011. Labels: street art; SoHo. Friday, October 21, 2011. Comic Con NYC was exactly what I’d envisioned (and hoped) it would be. Tens of thousands of die-hard fans, many dressed in full costume, eagerly exploring the show floor, scoping out their favorite video game/comic/movie, and celebrating their passion. While I used to be an avid reader of macabre comics in my late teens-early 20s (check out Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. These stories tell about the u...

Still Learning in this Life: August 2011
http://stilllearninginthislife.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Still Learning in this Life. Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Tucked into a basement, in the heart of Little Italy, is a slightly hidden speakeasy called The Mulberry Project. On one sunny, hot Saturday, we and a few friends, ventured there for brunch. The place, while dark and sexy in the lounge, opens to a great back yard – a novelty for any New Yorker in the summer. Decorated with fake grass and graffitied walls, it was a perfect setting for a summer meal. Friday, August 19, 2011. To give it a semi-homemad...

Still Learning in this Life: Florida in Photos: Part II

Still Learning in this Life. Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Florida in Photos: Part II. We didn’t say in Miami for the entire duration and partook in a drive up to Boca Raton to visit family. That was equally as nice, and in addition to some great quality time with the Aunt and Uncle-in-law, we got to the beach (albeit for a short time) and I enjoyed seeing another part of Florida. Oh, and I forgot to add that my husband got to enjoy his favorite QSR breakfast place.iHop. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Still Learning in this Life: April 2012

Still Learning in this Life. Friday, April 13, 2012. Peep sushi (aka Peepshi), a modern delicacy, is fun and easy to make. After seeing the recipe. A couple years back on Serious Eats, and being motivated to try a hand at it this year, my friend and I tested our "sushi" making skills as we prepared for Easter last weekend. There are few ingredients needed - only Rice Krispie treats, Fruit by the Foot and of course, the star of the show.Peeps (in all shapes and hues). Once the "rice" is ready, all you hav...
