The time we got bedbugs | My Junior Fellowship Experience
https://stephanieneufeld.wordpress.com/2015/06/12/the-time-we-got-bedbugs
My Junior Fellowship Experience. The time we got bedbugs. June 12, 2015. My time at National office so far has been amazing! The advocacy team is super busy this summer with our campaign #PoliticsAside. Where we’re asking candidates in the next election to support international development. Next week I’ll be travelling to Ottawa to work with our team’s campaign manager Jason for a few days. I’ve never been to Ottawa before so I’m super excited for this! Despite the general grossness of the situation, it ...

May 2016 – A Junior Fellow Experience
https://ajfexperience.wordpress.com/2016/05
A Junior Fellow Experience. A Junior Fellow Experience. May 29, 2016. Gen: manager, friend, and Malawi navigator extraordinaire. And we have a quasi-pet dog which, if you know me, I am thrilled about. Snope lives in the backyard and is terrifying if you’re a stranger, but he seems to be used to me now. He is fed all the leftovers from meals, which means he eats a lot of nsima. Favour cracking a rare smile. She is very sassy…. My host family, all dressed up for church. RTG (later discloses name as Mary):.

Music in Malawi – A Junior Fellow Experience
https://ajfexperience.wordpress.com/2016/07/20/music-in-malawi
A Junior Fellow Experience. A Junior Fellow Experience. July 20, 2016. It should surprise no one that the music here is awesome. Like really, really good. While Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran have managed to weasel their way into Malawian radio, the vast majority of music here is African, with a good chunk of artists from here in Malawi. 1 Chipapapa – Tay Grin ft. 2Baba. 2 Liyaya – Hazel Mak. 3 Sweet Banana – Dan Lu ft. Kcee. 4 From Malawi – KBG and Dali Msosa. Okay, so I’m obviously not from Malawi,...

August 2016 – A Junior Fellow Experience
https://ajfexperience.wordpress.com/2016/08
A Junior Fellow Experience. A Junior Fellow Experience. August 15, 2016. Doll on a shelf. Yesterday morning, I found myself alone in Blantyre, arguably Malawi’s most developed city and the one with by far the most luxuries in terms of amenities, food, and shopping. I had a few hours to kill before heading back to my district, so I figured I’d make the most of the opportunity and look for some going-away gifts to give to my family when I head back to Canada next week. April 2016 – A Junior Fellow Experience
https://ajfexperience.wordpress.com/2016/04
A Junior Fellow Experience. A Junior Fellow Experience. April 12, 2016. April 13, 2016. Wine downs, massive chip bags, and letters: feeling grateful. The past few months for me have been riddled with anxiety. Between three part-time jobs, a family, friends, a boyfriend, and a full-time course load, I have been stretched thin. Add on to that an internship with Engineers Without Borders and my stress levels have been through the roof. Do they resent me because I’m new? What if I disappoint them? I’m ...

Also, I know these photos aren’t exactly relevant to the stories, but Favour is cute so give me a break. Strange new habit – open Chloe’s door…. For the past few weeks, Prince has popped into my office every few days to say hi and check if I’ve gotten my kettle repaired. Each time I have laughed, embarrassed, and replied that no, I hadn’t gotten around to it yet. Needless to say, I feel very w...

Long distance relationship with my body – A Junior Fellow Experience

A Junior Fellow Experience. A Junior Fellow Experience. July 6, 2016. July 6, 2016. Long distance relationship with my body. That being said, when my boss at work came back from some time out of town last week and remarked, “ah, Chloe, you’ve put on weight! Despite this, my immediate reaction to my boss’ comment regarding my supposed weight gain was a defensive one. “I exercise every day here! I’ve run eight half marathons! 14 thoughts on “ Long distance relationship with my body. July 6, 2016 at 6:08 pm.
