There are two, one much smaller than the other.They run along the windowsill then on to the bird table- I love them, they seem more interested in bread than the bird food, and the birds come back as soon as the squiggles go. I had my left wrist injected last Thursday, it seemed much more painful than when I last had my wrists done and I admit to fainting as the needle was drawn out! The Dr was lovely (the vast majority at my little hopical are fabulous), and offered to do both wrists while I was there. Friday, May 4, 2012. 2 down, how many more to go? The magic words every cancer patient wants to hear. No evidence of disease'. Means i can breath for another 3 months. Also means i'm at the point where, now that the treatments are essentially done (except for the clinical trial) that it's time to crash and burn for a month or so. Everyone tells me this is normal. Friday, February 24, 2012. That's what I've had lately. 2/9, i had the first chemo that was ONLY the clinical trial. No anti-nausea meds. no gallons of hydration. It was easy. seriously. i can do this. Been to see the radiation oncologist. he's wonderful. So next week, we start radiation. somewhere around 5-1/2 weeks, 5 days a week. Based on the Brain MRI I had, there were 2 tiny mets. so i had cyberknife to (hopefully) blow thing1 and thing2 to kingdom come. at least, we hope so. I had a new CT last week, and should know this week if the Alimta is working or not. of course, we hope it is, and I believe my onc has at least one plan in mind, in case it isn't. so we wait on that one. Tuesday, April 29, 2014. For the most part, I'm doing updates over here. At the fund raiser that friends set up for me - if you're able to share the URL. With folks on your social media, I'd be very appreciative. The long and short is that i'm starting an anti-PD-1 trial tomorrow, in chicago - i'll have to go there pretty much every 2 weeks, but we're really really hopeful that it helps, since the last chemo didn't do a whole lot for me. Friday, September 20, 2013. That's the official verdict, comparing yesterday's CT scan to the one 16 days earlier. And that's a good thing! The plan was that if the chemo wasn't showing a marked improvement, my oncologist was going to add tamoxifen to the mix (take a pill daily for. forever). right now, he's satisfied with the progress, so no tamoxifen for me. YAY! I'm ok with that. Happy friday. we had good news today! Tuesday, September 17, 2013. In it, she tells me how i'm so strong and courageous.

Monday, January 20, 2014. To anyone who has commented recently, I apologize - I haven't checked as much, and I missed the comments. So here's where we are. We were not able to test any of the mutations, because there wasn't enough tissue. I don't know why it took them 2 weeks to decide this, but there it is. I was cleared to return to work, though - so on February 6 (a couple more weeks), I return to the land of the productive, income earning folks. I'm looking forward to it! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
