Simon Dettwiler (1976, Dornach) wurde im Baselbiet geboren und bekam die Liebe zur Volksmusik in die Wiege gelegt. Inspiriert von seinen beiden bereits örgelnden Onkels fing er als 9-Jähriger ebenfalls damit an. Nach einigen Jahren Unterricht bei Stefan Wehrli. Bildete er sich autodidaktisch weiter. Seine musikalischen Tätigkeiten sind heute sehr vielfältig: so ist er Leiter in den Volksmusikkursen Arosa. St Antönien, Balmberg. Und dem Basler Jazz-Volksmusik-Zwitter SULP. 2808 - Maisprach BL.

Should have been studying but instead went to the Arts/Crafts Fair at Brookdale Park on Sat and went to CultureFest on Sunday in NYC at Battery Park. Met up with some friends in NYC and ate a Souen, a macrobiotic restaurant. I have been so full of mixed emotions since my return to NJ from Basel. The worse thing about sirsasana (headstand) is falling over and landing on your butt with a thud" This is what the teacher at the Yoga Intensive I went to this weekend kept telling us. "Relax in Sirsasana. If you hold your body as stiff as a board in headstand, then if you do happen to fall over, the floor will treat you like a board.". Tuesday, October 16, 2007. I am not crazy. I have been feeling rather gloomy these days. Probably the weather, school, work, life. (not necessary in that order). I don't even feel like buying any yarn these days either! On the knitting front, I have several FO that need to be seamed and tidied up. Wednesday, October 31, 2007. The afternoon of Halloween started off reasonably well. I picked up Marlis from school at lunch and we ate lunch at Yoshi and then took her to piano lesson. We find another wand. The rest of the night of trick-treating goes well. It's amazing how it seems like the end of the world to lose your wand (and spilled beer). Posted by hy : 10:33 PM. Monday, February 19, 2007. Quatch" was a term I picked up from my friend's g.friend the weekend between Basel and Buonas. It means "Bullshit" but nicer. Here are some pix of Gstaad. I did not see any celebrities but did eat a delish apple poppy seed cake while walking around the town and bought a spaetzle pan and another plate warmer. Monday, October 30, 2006. The week is not starting out well. My VPN certificate did not work so I had to dial into my usualy telecon w/o an agenda since I was unable to access my work email. It wasn't until almost 10:30 this morning that I was able to retrieve a new certificate. Last night, me and Richard went our first alumi event. It was a wine tasting soiree hosted by an Alumni couple. I wasn't really that keen to go but since we already RSVPd and Marlis was with Alicia, we went. What a small world!
