Besides our important education project, the same island also includes the rehabilitation of seven species of endangered primates. With sufficient numbers of each species, they will be re-populating into their original habitats. Specifically, over the next five years, at least 70 monkeys, 10 from each species will be brought and introduced to the island environment. Przyszlo nam to nieco ze smutkiem, gdyz wciaz mamy w pamieci piekno wyspy Sumak Allpa. Jednak z drugiej strony, pobyt tutaj przybliza nas do domu, a to z cala pewnoscia jest dobra strona tej sytuacji :). Widok na Andy - Quito. Zachwyciwszy sie campusem, tym przyjemniej bylo nam przegladac jego zbiory biblioteczne w poszukiwaniu interesujacych nas tematow badawczych. Pani Doktor i capmus :).

Wyróżnienie w kategorii "Wyprawa roku" zostało przyznane za studenckie badania naukowe Ekwador 2012 - "Wpływ globalizacji na rękodzieło Indian Quichua". Czwartek, 13 września 2012. Ostatni dzien w Quito. Nadszedl nasz ostatni dzien w Ekwadorze. Spedzilysmy go zwiedzajac Mitad del Mundo (miasteczko polozone nieopodal Quito, w doslownym tlumaczeniu jego nazwa oznacza srodek swiata). Miasteczko to przeciete jest przez rownik, totez bedac w nim, mozna stanac zarowno na prawej, jak i na lewej polkuli. Przy okazji zwiedzilysmy pobliskie atrakcje turystyczne, w tym maly skansen indianski. Lokalna atrakcja turystyczna - zdjecie z wypchana koza.

Czwartek, 13 września 2012. Tu znow Doctora :). Na pewno studenki napisza jeszcze ciekawe i wazne posty, a ja teraz chcialabym tylko bardzo serdecznie podziekowac im za te dwa tygodnie. Bylyscie Panie milymi towarzyszami podrozy, pracownitymi i dociekliwymi zbieraczkami danych i dobrze spedzilysmy czas w Ekwadorze. Bedziemy jeszcze (na Pan nieszczescie :) musialy sporo razem pracowac nad danymi zebranymi podczas badan, ale teraz wiem, ze nasza wspolpraca bedzie sie dobrze ukladac. Ostatni dzien w Quito.

Piątek, 31 sierpnia 2012. Mamy przyjemnosc oglosic, iz szczesliwie dotarlysmy do Quito! Juz sama podroz stanowila przedsmak wyprawy ekwadorskiej, bedac dla nas sporym wyzwaniem. W ciagu 26 godzin mialysmy przesiadki w 3 miastach: Frankfurcie, San Domingo i Panamie City. A ponadto, dodatkowa trudnoscia okazal sie fakt, iz w stosunku do czasu polskiego mamy 6 godzinowa roznice. Z niecierpliwoscia czekamy na nowe smaki :) .
