My name is Evan and my 2008 goal is to climb ten 4000-foot mountains. I am 9 years old and in the 4th grade at the South Shore Charter Public School and I've been there since kindergarten. My friends, my teachers and I love it there. I want my goal of climbing mountains to help my school. I learned that my school is trying to “go green.” I want to raise at least $5,000 to give to my school so the teachers can find new ways for us to be better for the environment. Summits for My School. Saturday, January 5, 2008. On New Year's Eve we were talking about resolutions and goals for 2008. One of my goals is to climb at least ten 4000-footers within the year. A "4000-footer" is a mountain with a summit higher than 4000 feet above sea level, and there are 67 of them in New England. Over half of them are in New Hampshire. Last year I climbed seven mountains, three of which are 4000-footers (one of them was Mount Katahdin, the highest mountain in Maine, at 5,268 ft.).
