Guns, Not Butter - ww renaissance. 10:20 pm March 24th, 2011. Guns, Not Butter. My beloved underrated little gem! This episode is delightful and very underrated. I've also been bashing Donna a lot in the last bunch of picspams but nothing but love here for her. It's one of her best episodes. Two very attractive Republican aides take Josh into the attractive Republican cloakroom but sadly for Josh, it's in no way dirty. Warring Harding is getting more play than Josh now that Amy left. What do you think?

Election Night - ww renaissance. 04:14 pm March 20th, 2011. I'm back and ready to recap although perhaps not at my speed before. I'm back with Election Night. A very nice and warm and fuzzy episode. WOMAN IN RED COAT. I have a message from Toby Ziegler. WOMAN IN RED COAT. He says. ten dollars. Josh looks up to see everyone he was talking to standing in the background laughing. I see You guys are a little troupe. A little acting troupe with a "U". Yes sir, we are. Can I give you a card? Of course he wrote...

Inauguration Part I - ww renaissance. 12:39 pm March 29th, 2011. So after the Midwest ennui of The Long Goodbye. We're back to the ensemble, witty banter, heavy politics and effervescent typicality of classic West Wing. This episode is a particularly stunning example of excellent West Wing. Sorkin is doing his thang where he shows a scene close to or at the climax of the story in the teaser and then goes back and shows the scenes leading up to that point in the story. It's tremendously effective. Well, y...

Arctic Radar - ww renaissance. 01:57 pm March 23rd, 2011. You're going to hear a story. Uh-huh. I am a character in this story? I do like the sly wit in that exchange. Aaron Sorkin, I missed you even if you’re working at mediocre levels here. Anyway, it’s exposition time. I don't see me being a character. CJ leaves and Leo weighs in. Yeah It's against military law? No They don't like fraternization, but her thing isn't the affair, it's failure to follow an order. They told her to stop? What can she get?

Red Havens on Fire - ww renaissance. 06:58 pm April 10th, 2011. Red Havens on Fire. Last episode with Sam Seaborn until Season 7. Momentous occasion. I do feel that this episode fails as a send-off for Sam. As an episode, it's well-made and relatively popular. However, I do have my issues. These issues do come more meta than I expected to write on this ep! More on that in the recap:. Toby is talking to Josh on Air Force One. You can post bond with a credit card. Yo, man, that's totally whack! Yeah, race ...

I love this episode. It's not a classic like the next four episodes - ww renaissance. 06:29 pm April 14th, 2011. I love this episode. It's not a classic like the next four episodes (where I intend to party with hyper-meta and flailing because Evidence of Things Not Seen. Calls out for that. Still, this is a fun episode with layers of important meaning. Hence, I wrote a *ton* of meta on this puppy. It came pouring out. But it's not, Steve; you can just look out the window and check that one off the list.

Swiss Diplomacy - ww renaissance. 08:32 pm March 22nd, 2011. CJ and Leo are prepping Jed for his first press conference after winning reelection. I think everyone following these meta/picspams have gotten the message that I normally love Jed’s quirky arrogance but he’s insufferable here. He hits the arrogant/megalomaniacal note way too many times in this episode and this exchange. Mr President, how do you interpret the margin of victory? I think he also renamed the month of January after himself. Toby co...

Process Stories - ww renaissance. 10:54 pm March 21st, 2011. A lot of sexin', dancin', politicin', warrin' and other verbs that could end in 'n in this charming little episode. He said. what he said was this- he said, "A probable impossibility is preferable to an improbable possibility." The impossible is preferable to the improbable. What did he mean? He meant that it's okay to have a broomstick sing and dance, but you shouldn't turn on the radio and hear the news report you need to hear. I talked to th...

Inaguration: Over There - ww renaissance. 06:45 pm March 30th, 2011. Now, we're on the second part of the Inauguration two-parter. Normally, I love the second part of West Wing two-parters the most. However while this episode is fun and decently written, I do think that it gets way too fluffy and saccharine and doesn't satisfactorily answer the tough moral, interpersonal, etc. questions that Inauguration Part I. And other episodes through Season 4 set up. That said, it's great fun so without further ado,.
