Sunday Knits - what's new
http://www.sundayknits.com/whatsnew.html
Listen for the feather . But watch for the brick. Here's what's new with Sunday Knits . . . Reversible shawl in leaf and mesh lace. Two-color brioche gradient scarf/stole/shawl. Bohus-style stranded and textured mittens. Hat and mitts in pretty eyelet lattice. Rain Falling on Cedars. Top-down cardi with a knockout collar and slanted pockets. Chic, reversible cowl with a twist. The latest in the Pueblo stole series. Not too primitive, not too refined. Just right. One good rib deserves another! May 7, 2015.

What a thrill to have Twist Collective. Accept my sweater idea for their Winter '09 issuet. Inspired by the decorative patterns of William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement. The sweater is knit in 6 pieces from the bottom up, with front lace panels set off by reverse stockinette. Lace detail at sleeve cuffs, center back. Finished measurements: Chest sizes 33 (37,41, 45, 49, 53). Intended to be worn with 1-2" of ease. Shown in size 36". Shown in Angelic (75% merino, 25% angora) in Bone.

There was no possibility of taking a walk that day. . Please know, first off, that I usually avoid copying other knit designs like the plague. But exceptions must be made from time to time. This time, the shawls worn in the new Jane Eyre film are so sweet and so simple. And were demanding so vociferously to be knitted, that I couldn't stop myself. It seem that there are actually two garter stitch shawls in the film - one is quite abbreviated;. The other is fuller and longer both front and back. Yarn: Sun...

Knitting Windwards: Halfway through
http://knittingwindwards.blogspot.com/2013/08/halfway-through.html
Monday, 19 August 2013. So only two and a bit weeks left of the summer holidays. It's been completely manic so far but I'm off again next week with TJ and I'm planning a more relaxed week than last time. I did manage a day with Rob and Thom last week. We went to Chatsworth - somewhere I've always wanted to go - and it was beautiful. It's just a shame that it took so long to get there. don't ask. Rob's navigation skills leave something to be desired. Only 20 rows to go now! View my complete profile.

Knitting Windwards: Things I learned today
http://knittingwindwards.blogspot.com/2013/07/things-i-learned-today.html
Thursday, 11 July 2013. Things I learned today. 1 I am actually quite good at my job. Sometimes, when people say good things about the work that I've done, they really mean it - they're not just being nice and supportive. 2 Sam looks so much better with brown hair. We've just been through a couple of weeks of her being bleach blonde and I hated it. Yes, I know it's her hair. I still hated it. 3 I really need to learn to be more patient! Here's Raichu so far. still some weaving in to do yet.

WoolGathering: The Saga Continues
http://mccauley-julianne.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-saga-continues.html
Time spent in happy delusion is never wasted. Thursday, June 25, 2015. I bet you thought I'd be done with the kitchen by now. I know I did. This was such a limited excursion into remodeling. We had to replace the (original, cast-iron, ca. 1920) pipes, but why install the replacements in the same place, the middle of the room? As long as we were putting new in, why not put them in in someplace that makes sense? More demanding, less tolerant clients than I am. I'm holding hard to the knowledge that onc...

WoolGathering: Knitting Rage
http://mccauley-julianne.blogspot.com/2015/02/knitting-rage.html
Time spent in happy delusion is never wasted. Monday, February 02, 2015. Long, long ago, I bought a super-wash merino/cashmere worsted blend by a small company called "Have You Any Wool" (aka as knitmommy. On Etsy) from Eat.Sleep.Knit. In a colorway called Rage. I like red and it looked like a good one. As it happens, it's more of a strong red over-dyed with black. How could I bear to wear it? Why would I ever want to knit such a thing? Who wants to knit in a rage? Think of what it would do to your gauge.

WoolGathering: April was the cruellest month
http://mccauley-julianne.blogspot.com/2015/05/april-was-cruellest-month.html
Time spent in happy delusion is never wasted. Friday, May 01, 2015. April was the cruellest month. Fair warning. No knitting. I don't think I've written much about this, but I hate my kitchen. I've hated it since the first meal I prepared in it. Also, keep in mind this is a condo. No attic. No basement. No garage. Why would you give up two closets? I figure the original developer/owner/designer/whoever was deeply attached to inefficiency. Something further to keep in mind - they didn't move the pipes.

WoolGathering: Instigated
http://mccauley-julianne.blogspot.com/2008/03/instigated.html
Time spent in happy delusion is never wasted. Friday, March 21, 2008. Are inextricably linked in my mind. I first signed up to Blogger so I could post to the M-D KAL blog. Since the ball-band dishcloths and linen hand towels, there have been the recent afghan-along, the Perfect Sweater, the mitered squares and the bubbly curtain, though I've never touched denim yarn. Despite that, or maybe because of it, I had. For the course. There you are. Kismet. Without Kay, I would have missed it. Yesterday, I set o...

WoolGathering: We're Having Weather Here
http://mccauley-julianne.blogspot.com/2015/02/were-having-weather-here.html
Time spent in happy delusion is never wasted. Thursday, February 19, 2015. We're Having Weather Here. It's cold here. It's been cold here. It is going to continue to be cold here. As we approached record-setting low temperatures last night, The Princess and I were noting how useful wool blankets are. In fact, it occurred to us that a couple more couldn't hurt. That leaves me with only one decision. Either way, I'll end up with a lapful of wool. Which, in this Artic environment,. Posted by Julie McC.

Where the Red-Winged Blackbird Flies.: Ch-ch-ch-changes
http://blackbirdturning.blogspot.com/2015/03/ch-ch-ch-changes.html
Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Well, hello there! It's been a bit quiet on the blogging end for me lately- this has been a hard winter here in Maine, and that, combined with a lot of projects in progress, has meant that my energy has had to go elsewhere. I'm planning a big, three month retrospective for the Stockinette Market, so don't worry! I'm still crunching numbers! But today, I wanted to check in about some big transitions that have been and will be going on in the background. Missing in the last few ye...
